Text (Omeka Classic)
We tried for two days to get a COVID-19 test for my husband. I called on 3/24/2020 at 2:30 PM and was told there were no appointments left and to call again at 7:00 AM the next day. We called on 3/25/2020 at 7:00 AM and waited on hold for over an hour. By the time the operator could process the appointment, they were all full. She told us to call back at noon. We did. We called at noon, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:50 (they close at 5:00 PM), and there were no appointments. One operator told us to try Banner Urgent Care. I called the location on McClintock Drive. They had no tests. Another operator said to call the Maricopa County Health Department, the phone tree was obtuse and there was no way to talk to someone about getting a test. I’m not sure if he made the right choice by staying home. If he doesn’t go to work, he does not get paid. Without a test there is no way to be certain, but I am sure that we don’t want to continue navigating an inundated system trying to get a test.
