In addition to COVID-19, 2020 was an historic year for civil rights movements like LGBTQ protests against street-preacher David Lynn. To get a full understanding of the Plague year, it is important to recognize other events that effect the pandemic's historical context. This artifact is a powerful photo of LGBTQ (and/or ally) protesters, wearing masks and standing opposite to Lynn as he baptizes someone. To get a full understanding of the Plague year, it is important to recognize other events that effect the pandemic's historical context. Like with other social movements, COVID influenced the ways in which these protesters organized (i.e. wearing masks).
