One of my best friends is immunosuppressed, meaning she cannot fight the virus or other diseases if she gets sick. She has been fighting this rare autoimmune disease for almost 9 years, losing part of her lung. Coronavirus is a big deal for someone with this condition; she has been in mandatory quartine since March 6th, 2020. It is hard to comfort people in this position, most people think about the elderly or the young but, they may be forgetting about the immunosuppressed. This affects people like her because they cannot go to hospitals to get the treatments they need. She was recently scheduled for a bronchoscopy for the first week in april, however, the doctors have postponed it, for safety reasons. All we have left is hope, the hope that people will start to follow the rules and the hope that this will all get better.
