COVID-19 has separated my father and I as I can not stay with him for long periods of time. My dad is 72 about to turn 73, lives alone in a tiny apartment, and can not walk very well so that means no driving. I now have to do every chore he would normally like grocery shopping but I have to keep a 6 foot distance when I arrive at his place. I can't even get to hug him when I leave. I used to hug my dad multiple times a day as a way to say I love you, but now I can't risk him getting sick. I think about how much I have taken that for granted and COVID-19 showed me that it is a special thing.
