Story of my isolation

Description (Dublin Core)

Isolation in Russia
My name is Alina, i`m live in Moscow, Russia. At the end of March 2020, I went on vacation. I went to my family in my hometown and brought my mother to visit in the suburbs. We knew that coronavirus was euthanized in China, but what abroad was of little concern to us. We never went abroad due to lack of money for this. Having my mother on the train home, I felt unwell. In the office, our superiors began to look askance at everyone who sneezed at least once. They demanded that we immediately go home and call a doctor. I felt normal, my throat was a little sore and I had a runny nose and a temperature of 37. Everything looked like the usual seasonal exacerbation of my chronic tonsillitis. On Friday, March 14th, we went with my boyfriend, with whom I live, to the film "The Geltmen" and drove home. The street became sharply colder, and when we arrived, I felt a breakdown and a slight malaise throughout my body. I decided to lie down for a couple of hours. And I couldn’t get up, either on Sunday or in the next week. On Sunday, March 15th, I took paracetamol and started spraying my throat with a spray. But nothing helped, the condition remained average, the temperature 37.2 - 38 did not drop even in the morning. On Monday, March 16, I wrote to my colleagues in a chat that I did not feel very well and would lie down a bit at home. At this time, everywhere in the media and on the Internet they called for the slightest ailment to call an ambulance. In addition, at work they asked to call a doctor and said that I need to bring a certificate at the end of the sick leave that I am healthy. Lying in bed, having read the news that the authorities provide everyone who feels sick for 14 days and even delivers them with couriers, I decided to call the hotline so that I would also be given sick leave for 14 days and delivered by courier. However, an answering machine answered in the hot line and urged everyone who needed a sick leave to go to their site. And this site was broken on Monday morning when I called a doctor. I needed a sick leave, and I called an ambulance because I was not listed in the local clinic. You can get medical help in Russia either by registration (at the address of my hometown), or by the arrival of an ambulance. The first thing doctors asked me was the availability of an insurance policy. They arrived in disposable masks together, without gloves and other means. They asked if I was in contact with a diseased coronavirus. I answered the same way as on the phone that we have an international company in a large wear center. From colleagues, every second goes to work abroad and could bring a virus to the office. But no one was tested, I can’t know. Moreover, I go to work 5 times a day by public transport. The doctors wrote everything down somewhere on paper, listened to my lungs, looked down their throats and left. At the doorstep I asked them what to do - I need a sick leave. The doctor replied that they did not give out sick leave and would transfer me to a local clinic to a general practitioner. They did not take any tests, they did not prescribe any drugs. They said that tomorrow everyone will say by phone. So, Monday was officially absenteeism. On Tuesday, March 17, they called me from my home number and asked if I called an ambulance yesterday. I said yes, I, my temperature has not been falling for 3 days now that I don’t know if I have a coronavirus or not and I need documents about the sick leave for work. It turned out to be a local clinic, which is standing in my courtyard of my rented apartment in the suburbs. They said that they transmitted information about me from the ambulance to further call the doctor to the house and draw up the sick-list. But they said right away that if I do not have a special policy in a plastic card in the Moscow region, they will not accept me and they will not send me a doctor, as they cannot register me at home. I told them that I have a policy of another city and I need help. To which they replied that the policy should not be changed for so long and that I should go and change. I replied that if I would infect 500 people on the way to their office in the subway and on the train, sitting in line for documents to replace the policy, then when they judge me, I’ll say that the local clinic didn’t accept me because of paperwork and therefore people got infected. They replied that I would get up anyway and go in for the design of the policy they needed. I felt bad, and, of course, I didn’t go anywhere, since I didn’t have a sick-list, and the design of the policy and further formalization of the hospital promised to be long and exhausting. I began to look for a paid clinic with a doctor’s visit to the house, as I still felt bad. But the clinics doubled the prices for leaving doctors and just 2 visits would cost me a fortune. Therefore, I signed up for the nearest clinic near the house and went there for an appointment. They met me, immediately measured the temperature, got sick leave, took a blood test and DNA analysis for various types of atypical SARS.
Of the prescribed drugs, I was prescribed only interferon in a spray for the nose and a spray in the throat. They said not to bring down the temperature to 38 and drink a lot of fruit drinks. I received analyzes on mail on March 19 and 20. There was a general blood test and a screen for old types of coronavirus. Everything was normal. On Friday, I went to the doctor and wrote out, because they don’t give more than the sick-list according to the law. The temperature dropped periodically, and I began to feel better. In general, hospital and clinic services plus medications in 7 days cost me 8,000 rubles, which corresponds to the Russian minimum wage for a month. I went to work on March 23 and worked in the office for two days. Then the order came from the leadership that those who do not drive their own cars, but ride the subway and train should work remotely. And as an Internet marketer, I went to my isolation, which I am still in. They send me tasks by e-mail and in messengers. In the city, all public places, cafes, banks and shops were closed, except for grocery stores and pharmacies. Police arrest people on the street for "violating the self-isolation regime," although some of them simply go to their nearest store or walk the dog. An emergency regime has not been introduced in Russia, but the state has obliged everyone who is going somewhere further than their nearest store to register and write out an online pass, which is valid for a very limited time. Outside the window, large traffic jams form twice a day, as when everything was fine. The police put the block posts and checks all electronic badges. If you do not have a pass, you can be sent to prison or a huge fine will be written. People are unhappy with this, because many of my friends lost their jobs, or were in search. Freelancers are sounding the alarm because they have no orders, and there is nothing to pay for renting an apartment and utility bills. Many went to their hometowns, because they don’t know when the next salary will be and when it will all end. Many went to their hometowns, because they don’t know when the next salary will be and when it will all end. My mom is a diabetic, daily buys cereals and canned food - waiting for a severe crisis and hunger. I don’t worry, because the situation is normal at home, I’m a loved one with me and so far I’m paying a salary. But the temperature of 37.2 is still sometimes there.
