To mask or not
Title (Dublin Core)
To mask or not
Description (Dublin Core)
An encounter at a local CVS in MA where the employees were not wearing masks.
Putting on my mask before exiting my car, I entered CVS in Sudbury, MA to fill a prescription and pick up another. Store traffic was sparse, and, as I made my way to the pharmacy, maintaining social distancing wasn’t a problem.
At the refill window, though, I was shocked to notice that neither the pharmacists nor the support staff wore masks!
I asked the tech who was entering my script into the terminal about it. To his credit, he went to ask the pharmacist. The reply he got was even more startling: “It’s optional, and it’s very warm back here.”
“The mask is supposed to protect me from you and you from me. According to the governor, they’re not optional.”
The tech didn’t pursue it, as the pharmacy was busy. But, he also didn’t put on his mask, which hung around his neck. None of the others did either.
