Text (Omeka Classic)
Living through the COVID-19 crisis has been one of the most stressful events in recent history. I am an online student, therefore my daily schedule wasn't turned upside down when the lockdown began. Although I am used to being inside for most of the day, going to the grocery store and running errands has felt like a scene from an apocalypse movie. I feel scared for my father during this crisis because he has asthma, Lewy-Body-Dementia, and other health issues. These put him at a greater risk of infection and death. I am his caretaker and it has been a challenge explaining to him why he cannot get a haircut or go out for coffee. I find that the only way to calm him is to try to find a distraction and take his mind off of an uncomprehensible world event.
