So, today I will be interview interviewing [SP]. She was my middle school
guidance counselor back my hometown in [redacted town name]. And [SP], how are you
doing?
SP 0:19
Good. How are you doing [QM]?
QM 0:20
I'm doing great.
SP 0:22
You like Arizona?
QM 0:23
Yeah. It's warm. It's not humid.
SP 0:29
Beats the rainy [redacted town name].
QM 0:31
Yeah, well at least she has some of them [indiscernible].
SP 0:37
So how can I help you today?
QM 0:38
Well, I'm asking you some questions on how the corona pandemic, we're currently facing, which I know has reached [redacted town name], there's a case even, is affecting your perspective on religion. And like your overall religiosity in how you engage in your religion. So, I was going to ask you three questions.
SP 1:14
Okay, well, let me take this one. This pandemic is you know, it's really hit me hard. I know a lot of people in the community that work in health care. And I've seen the stress that is put on them. They do sometimes reach out by going to talk to people who are in their community, either by going to their church. For me personally, I do attend church occasionally. Um, the church that we attend here in [redacted town name] has actually closed until further notice. We used to have Sunday activities and Wednesday night activities for people in our congregation. But unfortunately, that's been cancelled. However, the good news is we can still attend church, through Facebook by going to, you know, the Facebook account and logging in. And we had a beautiful Easter Sunday
service. I can say that, it really hasn't changed my perspective on religion. I just think this is one of those things that we need to go through as a human society. People haven't had this happen to them before. And I think we'll just navigate the waters and have some faith that we're all going to get through it.
QM 2:37
That that's, a that's, that's wonderful. Um, well, it looks like you actually hit all the marks for questions I was gonna ask what you were just how the corona virus pandemic was affecting your faith. If you guys are still gathering, and what kind of service he has in but you didn't nailed it all, you Oh, and your monologue. So, okay.
SP 3:10
Well, I think we all need a test, take deep breaths and have you know, calmer anxiety about this. Just have some faith that we're gonna get through it, whether that's through the faith of the church or your own personal beliefs.
QM 3:25
Masks.
SP 3:26
You know, we just got to stay positive and try to continue moving on.
QM 3:34
That's a good prospective. Um, well, thank you so much [SP], for your, for your time
tonight. I hope to talk to you again soon and when I go home for the summer
SP 3:48
Thank you [QM]. I really do wish you luck. I hope that ASU has been good to you.
QM 3:55
Bye
