Text (Omeka Classic)

It’s mine and Leslies 13th anniversary...our last anniversary. Man it’s just so damn strange these days. The virus, the protests, the stupid politics. It all mirrors the strangeness inside my house right now. It’s almost as if the burden put upon me has been made real and given to the world so now everyone care bear it with me. I’m so thankful for Emmett and Charlie. They bring me so much joy every day, I’m glad they understand my dad humor. I think we laugh at each other from the same vantage point without realizing it. I’m also thankful for Greg, Kathy, and Bella. Every conversation is like a refuge. When I go to their house I get that “going to moms for dinner” feeling. Finally, I’m thankful for Cara, Ryan, and their kids. They’re such an important part of my life. They are my people. Before all this crap started, the kids and I would go to their house and hang out for hours just to have fun. They would play with their cousins and me the Lawrences would just sup beer and talk about anything. Cara and the kids actually drove by just to say hello for a minute. It was so good to see them. They are missed.
