Text (Omeka Classic)

It was the 10th of March 2020 and I was getting ready to leave to LA for spring break. I'd heard of the virus before but I didn't think much of it. As I arrived to the bus station I had noticed that people were wearing masks and that people had begun to worry on social media, however be being careless I still didn't think much of it. As I got to LA my friend who I would be staying with asked me if I was sick, I told him "no" and we laughed it off and greeted each other. The next few nights we went out to social gatherings and the world seemed normal. Then one Sunday night we went out to grab something to eat and noticed that the streets were completely empty, our driver exaggerated that this wasn't normal so I began to worry. I scheduled my flight home to Washington for the next morning and began to pack my things that night. As I went to the airport I noticed it was hectic with people trying to return home just like me, as I boarded my flight I began to look around and people were just nervously staring at one another. This felt like the longest flight I had ever taken, just a constant feeling of being uncomfortable and I think this is how everyone felt. When I landed I got a message from a friend that he was returning home as well because his school just got canceled. This is when I knew it was serious. My mom locked me in my room for the next two weeks to make sure I didn't get any of my family sick and I've been stuck here in my house ever since, wondering if this will ever end.
