I first became interested in the inside perspective of what students, teachers, and staff were going through because I was substitute teaching while finishing my bachelors. While teaching this year, the students were about to embark on 2 weeks of distance learning because of the rise in cases. I had two girls in my class this day who were on the verge of tears because they thought they wouldn't be returning to school again (like last spring). This got my brain rolling towards an interview that touches on all moments of the shutdowns we've seen thus far, starting in spring 2020, the first months of school, and the current (now passed) two week move to remote learning. I'm happy to report that I am also happy to be back in the classroom, as are the students! GO BISON!

[TR] is a born and raised Montana girl. She has much pride in her family, friends, her home state, and in the place in which she has dedicated many years of her talents, skills, and adoration for the students and teachers at Great Falls High School. This interview, purposefully conducted at the main office at Great Falls High School, delves deeper into the experiences, heartbreak, triumphs, and lives of students and teachers during the COVID pandemic from the perspective of the person on the front line, who inevitably becomes the eyes, ears, and truly the little engine behind any organized school; their secretary. [TR] shares her thoughts, observations, highs, lows, and hopes for the future during these unprecedented times. This interview gives a voice to the unsung heroes like [TR] who are giving their all every day, on the front lines, to keep our Montana kids in school and to facilitate a level of safety in doing so. Thank you, [TR].
