Description (Dublin Core)
The interview I conducted was with an individual who was prior military -- lived through the pandemic while enlisted and upon returning home what his experience was like with COVID 19 now that he has returned home-as a civilian.
Face to face interview. This interview allowed me gain more insight to learn how other people really feel about the pandemic and how they survived and are thriving throughout the lifespan of COVID.

Hello, my name is Victoria Conerly, and this project is for history class. I am the interviewer, and Sadeyshus Sweets is the interviewee. He is the person that I will be interviewing today. Thank you. Starting first with question number one, in what way did COVID-19 affect your work life, if it did at all?
Sadeyshus Sweets 0:43
It didn't affect my worklife too much. I was in the army at the time, and we were still getting steady income with just minimal… what is it, contact with other people. And even after I left the service, I still was able to find a job and continue working with all the protocols.
Victoria Conerly 1:08
Okay, thank you. Thank you for that answer. Next question. Did you suffer any emotional hardships during the pandemic? If so, do you care to give an example of that?
Sadeyshus Sweets 1:21
No, I did not have any hardships, emotionally. It was pretty straightforward what with everything I had to do and everything I need to get done, and I didn't find it too difficult to follow what the guidelines that they put out there.
Victoria Conerly 1:43
Okay. All right. Thank you. Next question. Has COVID-19 make you think differently towards vacc-, vaccinations in general?
Sadeyshus Sweets 1:57
Well, I feel just about the same about any vaccination that I receive. It might be all the same and might not. You know, I've received a lot of vaccinations in my time, and I will receive many more. Just feels like the vaccination for COVID came out a little too soon. Certainly with all the numbers that have been put out, but at the same time, it should be safe and effective.
Victoria Conerly 2:24
Once again, thank you for that. Moving onto the next question. When going out such as to parks, restaurants, malls, stores, do you now almost feel compelled to wear a mask?
Sadeyshus Sweets 2:42
Honestly, not at all. I still feel the same way about everything. Whether you catch your spread it, it doesn't primarily rely on the mask itself. It just relies on you being healthy as a person, washing your hands and being considerate of others and just keeping your distance.
Victoria Conerly 3:04
Wonderful. Last question I have for you today. During the pandemic, were you shocked at all to find out there were shortages such as in toilet paper, cleaning supplies, sanitizing items, food, etc.?
Sadeyshus Sweets 3:26
Yes, I was very shocked. It all goes back to being considerate of others. There's certainly enough to go around, and everybody just snagging them up, kind of felt the need and the pressure to get more, fine going out and get more, but I feel like everything, COVID took everybody by surprise, so in a way it is understandable.
Victoria Conerly 3:49
I greatly appreciate your time today. And this concludes our interview. Thank you so much Sadeyshus.
Sadeyshus Sweets 3:58
Thank you. It's been a blast.
