Asian Lives Matter

Title (Dublin Core)

Asian Lives Matter

Description (Dublin Core)

When I went to summer camp, I spoke Chinese to my friends who could not speak english very well. However, we were constantly told that "this is America" and we needed to speak english so everyone could understand and didn't feel left out.
This is an Asian Lives Matter sign. Because of Covid and even before Covid, Asians were constantly told to go back to their countries and that they did not belong in America.
This relates to the pandemic because everyone was blaming Chinese people for "bring Covid to America", even to those who have never even been to China before. Other Asians even bought and made shirts that said things like "I am not Chinese. Do not attack me."
