Description (Dublin Core)
My parents and I have gone to Disney World in Orlando Florida every year since I was 5. After the pandemic first started to lighten up, we took my younger cousin to Disney for their first time. We went during my Junior year at college, and I was able to complete work and assignment from Florida due to the hybrid lectures and classes.
From what I remember about the Covid 19 procedures in Disney, was that they were very strict about everyone's health but it wasn't an oppressive strict. They were very open and honest about the safety of everyone, but would not tolerate any slander or working around the system. Everyone apart of my party was respectful of Disney rules and of the safety of everyone. Mask were to be worn the entire time in the park, if eating there were designated areas separate from walkways and others for you to bring down the mask. Also the capacity of the parks was very light, and honestly very enjoyable. Our family was able to enjoy the parks without being hounded by other guest or huge crowds.
At the time, It felt weird to be traveling to Disney (or any place) while most of the world was suffering with the pandemic. I remembering feeling like this was going to be the new normal and that were going to have to get used to this form of traveling. Taking a look back at this now, I actually enjoy my experience then, but would say that protocols for Covid started to lift after the new year (2021).
