Last updated: March 16, 2020For an industry whose long-standing motto is "the show must go on," the events of the past week have been a staggering shock to all of us. The simple truth is that the very thing that makes going to the theater so thrilling -- the shared, communal experience -- is the reason it doesn't mix well with the concept of "social distancing." So, it is a disappointing but necessary reality that shows, events, and mass gatherings around the country have to cease, temporarily, in the midst of this global health crisis.Due to the State of New York order to cancel or postpone gatherings over 500 people until April 12, 2020, all Broadway shows have been cancelled during this time. Broadway.com customers with tickets to cancelled performances will be automatically refunded to the method of payment used for purchase. Performances beginning April 13, 2020 are currently planned to go on as scheduled. Should any additional performances be cancelled, Broadway.com customers will be contacted and automatically refunded to their original method of payment. We are navigating an unprecedented situation in real time, and ask for your patience. We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on our websites as this situation evolves to ensure the health and well-being of our audiences, staff, cast and crew before anything else. When this unexpected intermission comes to an end --and, make no mistake, it will come to an end -- we'll once again gather at lobby bars, sit beside one another in velvet seats, and laugh, cry, and cheer together in unison. When that day comes, the chance to take part in this great tradition will feel more special than ever before. We can't wait to pick up right where we left off!
