What I do to Help Pass the Time
I was really bored and needed something to help me pass the time while stuck at home. I was able to purchase this paint by number kit online. I severely underestimated how much time it would take to complete this painting. The portion that is painted took me about three days of on and off work. I am still working on it, and I have all the time in the world right now. It is interesting to see how different people pass their time during the pandemic. Some people are doing major projects while others just small ones. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Days Blurring Together - Spiderman Meme
I saw this meme while swiping through an app called Ifunny. The image was amusing and very relatable. I realized in the moment that I did not actually remember what day it was because of the zero structure in my life now. It is a funny take on the situation everyone is in. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Increased Traffic on Online Gaming Servers: League of Legends
The image is a permanent message posted on the game client of League of Legends since the quarantine began. As more people are spending time at home, the online gaming servers of League of Legends are being overburdened because too many people are accessing the game at the same time. This leads to game lag and increased strain on the internet service providers. This seems to be a direct effect of the Covid-19 outbreak since more people have free time, why not make time move faster by playing video games. I am certain there is increased traffic with all video games, online or offline, because video games are a popular source of home entertainment in today's world. Riot Games created the image. They are the company responsible for creating the game League of Legends. -

The New Normal
Due to the pandemic, the enforcement of using masks has changed my daily life. I had never had to use a masks but now I can’t enter any store without having one. Any store that requires masks won’t let anyone enter it without. This enforcement has gotten in me habit of never leaving my home without facial protection due to my fear of not being able to proceed with my normal everyday life. Though I know it is for the safety of my community it still has taken a huge part of my routine. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Dead but Free
Governor Newsom had implement the stay-at-home order for the safety of Californians but some don’t follow it due to the fact that Americans are born with freedom and don't have to stay in their homes if they don't desire to do so. So this meme is addressing how people still go out although the amounts of killed and affected by COVID 19 are skyrocketing as I speak. #CSUS #HIST15H -

The Office Coronavirus Meme
This meme resonated with me because it's very true, and it speaks volumes. The reaction of the time traveler would be exactly like the meme because 2020 seems like a terrible year. There are a lot of bad things about it outside of coronavirus, but the coronavirus is the main problem of 2020. I thought it was weird when I realized we were living in history right now, we are on lockdown and I had never imagined anything like this before. This year will be remembered forever, because I guarantee the world won't be the same for a while after this, possibly never the same again. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Pennywise Coronavirus Meme
This meme was funny to me because it shows the extremes that people are willing to go to, in order to get things like hand sanitizer during this time. This relates to my life because whenever I've gone to the store for groceries, I see signs in the front saying "no hand sanitizer, no sanitization wipes, no toilet paper, etc." or "limit 1 hand sanitizer per person". I didn't know it would get that crazy, but I guess Pennywise has a new way to get kids to come into the sewers with him in 2020. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Grandparents watching the news on Covid-19/coronavirus / Hist15H CSUS
This image shows two elderly people, a man, and women, sitting on their couch watching a news report of another coronavirus case. A cat is sitting on the couch as well which shows how the only company they had other than themselves was their pets and the TV. Many immunocompetent members of our society have to stay home during this pandemic because they do not want to risk contracting the disease. Many elderly specifically are afraid to even go to the grocery store in fear of the virus, so instead, they spend their days at home. Many people are watching the news and keeping u with politics even more now, looking out for the next changes that are to take place with this novel virus. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-17cXkpAIG/ -

Mother Health Care Professionals and their children
This image displays a baby, reaching out and touching the face shield of what seems to be her mother all gowned up and dressed in PPE. The woman in the picture who seems to be a health care worker who is also a mother is crying as she is torn away from beating able to hug and kiss her child because of the possibility of being infected after working in the hospital with coronavirus patients. This picture is especially special because it touches upon the hardships that health care workers are facing after working with patients all-day and not being able to have that relief of coming home and being comforted by their family members. This post was also made right before mother's day. The caption to this picture was in Portuguese and said "Mães. Hoje é o vosso dia. Esta ilustração vem ao encontro das mensagens que fui recebendo de profissionais de saúde que anseiam voltar a abraçar os filhos. Continuem com a mesma força de sempre. A cuidar dos filhos, dos pais e dos avós de alguém. O coração dos vossos filhos está carregado de orgulho. 🖤 a todas as mães um grande beijinho, um especial à minha. ✨ ©️2020, Sofia Pádua." When translated to English it said "Mothers. Today is your day. This illustration is in line with the messages I have received from health professionals who want to hug their children again. Continue with the same strength as always. Taking care of someone's children, parents, and grandparents. Your children's hearts are filled with pride. A big kiss to all mothers, a special one to mine. ✨ © ️2020, Sofia Pádua." -
