Back in Boston
The story is of me and my father going to see the Red Sox play at Fenway. The hat in the picture is the one I got at ballpark. It is important to me because it was the resumption of a tradition that me and my father have done for years. -

The First Game Back and the Last Game of the Season
This was a photo from my seat at my first mariners game back since the beginning of Covid and the last game of a great season. IT was an emotional game because they lost their wildcard spot, it was probably Kyle Seager's last game as a mariner after 10 years, and it was my first time in the ballpark since 2019. It feels like we are getting back to normal even though I am still hesitant to jumping back in. -

Preston Potter Oral History, 2020/11/16
This interview shares the perspective of not only a college student learning during the pandemic, but also a student athlete. Preston Potter strives to maintain his job, his grades, and also stay in athletic shape, while also trying to keep a sense of team brotherhood while staying safe. We explored how he tried to juggle all of this, stay sane, and lead a normal life. Preston gives a positive outlook on the struggles and challenges he faces, focused solely on achieving a dream career of being a professional baseball player. Turner will not be disciplined by MLB for return to field
During game 6 of the world series this year Justin Turner was removed from the game after the team was notified by MLB that he was positive for COVID-19. After his team won, he joined them on the field to celebrate. There were talks that he could be in trouble for doing so. This was a weird end to an even weirder season. -

Phillies place four players on the COVID-19 injured list
This is an article that I wrote on July 3rd, detailing how the Philadelphia Phillies placed for players on the injury list because of exposure to COVID-19. This is an important piece to me because it is one of my first forays into sports journalism, and it also shows how the pandemic affected my favorite sport. -

Cancelled Season
I am on the baseball team at the University of San Francisco, and in February of 2020, I was part of the large population of people who thought COVID-19 was not going to affect me. Our season had just started, and we were well prepared to have a great year. But a few weeks into the season, news spread that big college sports conferences were starting to cancel their seasons. We still had hope that ours would be kept alive, but it was not looking good. During Spring Break in early March, we got on the bus for an 8 hour trip to Malibu to play Pepperdine, who was nationally ranked. Everyone was pretty excited for a weekend in Malibu, and the opportunity to play a good team. But four hours into our trip, our bus got turned around: Our season was cancelled. When we finally got back to campus after what seemed like a ten hour drive, we met in the weight room to discuss the news. When we got the confirmation from our head coach, emotions began to kick in. Some were mad, some were devastated. The seniors were left in the dark on whether or not they had just played their last games of their college career. within the next week, everyone was back in their hometown with their families doing school online. Luckily, everyone was granted an extra year of eligibility, and now we are back on campus trying to make it work. I think I speak for everyone when I say that will be an event that we will never forget. -

Sports Science Quiz: How Far Did Softball Go?
During the quarantine I have had times of mania and have expended energy (i.e., gotten out my ya-yas) by creating solo softball videos. Creating a sports science quiz could also help occupy other people bored during the quarantine, e.g., teenagers.
