4th of July Weekend Sparks Further Protests
As the 4th of July weekend commenced, different sections of the country were split: quarantine, masks, and social distancing for a fairly quiet holiday or continue on with business as usual. In the tweet, we are invited to view what a 4th of July celebration looked like at Mount Rushmore. There were masks amongst protestors, amongst some attendees, and very few from the President's personal entourage. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #rushmore. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it touches on the intersection of politics, health, and public protest. Coronavirus is Airborne
The coronavirus emphasis in the beginning was always on washing our hands and the time period that it could remain active on various surfaces. As it has changed and developed, scientists and doctors have struggled to understand its nature while the public has been somewhat resistant to trusting the advice of professionals. Dr. Ding is highlighting the importance of everyone being on the same page and keeping the info as current as is possible. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #airborne. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it showcases the concerns of doctors that are struggling to understand the ever-changing nature of the coronavirus. Death Likes to Roll the Dice
Wearing a mask has become a political issue more so than a health issue. As someone who has existing health conditions, wearing a mask always seemed to be a matter of social responsibility. It has been interesting, and at times confusing, to see all of the arguments used to try and discourage mask wearing. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #wearadamnmask. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it describes the arguements that many people make for not having to wear a mask. -

An Ode to Medical Professionals (And Masks)
I have friends and family members that work in medicine. Although we joke about them getting coronavirus, there always is a small fear in the pit of my stomach when they go to work. This tweet, like many other collages in times of tragedy, takes the photos of deceased medical workers and forms them into collage to pay homage to the sacrifice that many have made. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #wearadamnmask. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it showcases the sacrifices that have been made in the medical field during the pandemic. It also attempts to show the gratitude that many people have for their medical professionals. -

Orange County doesn't like Masks
Throughout the country, people have been looking for ways big and small to help fight the coronavirus. One of the simplest ways of helping has been wearing a mask. In Orange County, the populace has reacted aggressively against any mandate to wear a mask. Although various gyms, restaurants, and bars are reopening and suggesting that people wear masks and social distance, most of the time people are willfully ignoring the orders. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #orangecounty. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it shows the response of many individuals in Orange County when forced to wear a mask. Doing so makes one a bit of a pariah. -

Protests and Coronavirus
When coronavirus started, the first sacrifice that was made to prevent the spread was all large gatherings. While this has mostly been followed for the duration of quarantine across the country, there was a huge concern when protests erupted over the murder of George Floyd. After some initial trepidation, it is clear that protestors are not causing the virus to spread; instead they seem to be trying to follow all CDC guidelines as best as they can.
