The eruption of senior year
This is important to me because weight lifting is important when it comes to playing baseball. Even know Covid-19 had hit us and closed down the gym, my friend and I were determined to stay as strong as possible so when we got back to playing we weren't behind anybody. With that being said, we made a squat rack out of wood and used it multiple times a week. We also made a deadlift platform that took us about a week to make and used that a bunch as well. -

Christmas
This year was pretty much the same as a normal Christmas. We had my grandparents over, opened presents under the tree, and had a big Christmas dinner. The only thing that didn't go as planned was my family from New York was supposed to come over, but they are at high risk with health problems. -

Suffolk Softball During The Pandemic
These photos were taken during the pandemic at our practices. As you can see, we are all wearing masks in the photo along with there only being a few of us in each of them. This really shows the differences between before and after Covid. There are no pictures of team events because we weren’t allowed to do anything with more than 10 people so we were on zoom a lot of the time for meetings and team things like study hall. This was a hard time for all of us and not being together through it all, a few people quit and stayed home so it was extremely different from times before everything happened. It was difficult to keep the mask on and breathing was quite hard as well, we took many socially distanced breaks to get a drink and pull our masks down for a minute or so. This is important to understand how different sports were throughout before the pandemic versus while we are in it and trying to figure out different solutions to problems. Every team had to go through the same thing we did with masks and social distancing and cleaning properly but it just adds to more about Suffolk Softball and how captured the moments throughout the pandemic which is important to archives. -

Covid on the Media
It was a typical day for me. I had finished my homework and went to check my phone. I went scrolling through Tiktok but noticed something was off. There was a new virus in China all over Tiktok, so I felt the need to look it up. I did some research and realized how quickly it was spreading and to how to stay safe. -

Monday Mornings During the COVID 19 Pandemic at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Monday mornings at UNLV are usually the busiest times all week. We have students walking around campus, running to class, catching up on past assignments, or simply getting a coffee with a group of friends. On October 12, I was walking to my lab (which has 15 kids in it), and I look up to see an unbelievable view: only 5 students walking in the same pathway as me. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a wise decision by our Nevada state government to change to remote classes for the semester. UNLV chose the safest way possible, and it is great seeing my school take the right precautions, however, that doesn't change the fact that our campus has never been as empty as it is now. "The city that never sleep" has turned into "the city that's trying their best to stay awake." Once things eventually go back to normal, this photo will seem unreal. For now, this is the status of our UNLV campus: lonely, but safe. -

Navajo Nation extends emergency declaration until June 7
"Tuuvi Travel Center in Moenkopi, Arizona informs travelers that the main store is closed and with only the drive thru window open for business. Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez announced May 13 that the Nation has extended an executive order declaring a state of emergency and government closures to June 7 in an attempt to minimize the spread of the coronavirus.
