How I have been affected by someone I know testing positive for COVID-19.
I haven't had Corona yet, or I don't think I have, but i certainly know people who have gotten it. In the beginning around April of 2020, everything had just shut down. My family had some friends who were exposed, and they all tested positive for COVID-19 right after we saw them. My family was in shock and we were scared. They began to quarantine, and then we had to quarantine as well because we were then exposed. They all got very sick and luckily no body in my family tested positive, but it was a very scary experience. -

Consider some of the rules or procedures that you have to follow, and tell your feelings about them
There are many new rules specifically for COVID-19, some seem to be good and others not so much. Some of the rules we have to follow at school are we have to always wear masks when around people, we have to be six feet apart from everyone, we have to constantly sanitize our hands and everything we touch, and we always have to eat outside. We are lucky because we get to be one of the only schools open, but it definitely is not fun having a mask on for almost 7 hours. Eating outside and always sanitizing isn't as bad, but the six feet apart rule is also very annoying. -

Experiences While Learning Virtually
Learning virtually seemed so amazing in the beginning, but once it was the only option, it was terrible. The beginning seemed like a nice break from going to school, but after a while I was ready to go back. Being on a computer for almost seven hours a day, five days a week was killing me. Our classes were 80 minutes long, and all we did was sit and stare blankly into a computer. We weren't able to see any friends, and overall it was super boring. Some good things about it was we were at our own houses, so i didn't get up until 7:45 a.m to be in class at 8:00 a.m. If you were on a trip or in a different place, you could still bring all your school stuff with you and not miss anything. Overall, I am glad to be back in school again for now. -

What do I think the cause of the virus Covid-19 is?
There are many different theories and possibilities as to what created this pandemic of Covid-19, and no body has truly figured out how to stop it or what the real cause is. I believe that Coronavirus has something to do with population control. I think that the government created this virus to subtly eliminate some of the population so that there wasn't an overload of humans, but they never had the idea that it was going to be this bad. It became uncontrollable, and has spread all over the world. Everything is shutting down and things are failing, the world is basically falling apart. -

What was Christmas like this year? How was it different?
Christmas this year was definitely different. For the most part, it didn't even feel like winter, and I was surprised that it has almost already been a year since everything became different from Covid. This year for Christmas it almost felt like there was no excitement for it or no build up to get us excited. We didn't get to spend Christmas with my grandparents and cousins as we usually do, but I still got to be with my family. We were able to have a good meal and still enjoy Christmas ourselves, but it definitely didn't feel real. -

My Life Before Covid and How I Found Out
My life before Covid-19 was going very well. I was traveling for competitions and doing sports, actually going to school in person normally, and I was able to see the rest of my family. I was very happy, and then everything began to fall apart. Back in January, I found out about the virus, and how it was in China. Everybody thought that it was a joke and we would all laugh when someone talked about it, but we never thought that it would spread to the USA, or cause an emergency global pandemic. I was actually at a competition the weekend before everything shut down, completely unaware of what was about to happen. We got home from the competition and the next day at school, I began to hear that other schools were shutting down and canceling school temporarily. That is when it all hit me. Our school was shutting down, stores were shutting down, restaurants were shutting down, everything was closed, and I thought that the world was ending. Who knew that right after coming back from a normal competition and a regular life that everything was changing. I definitely didn’t. The worst and funniest part about everything shutting down in an emergency rush, was the outage of toilet paper. Everyone was stalking up on toilet paper, for a reason I am not aware of, causing almost all stores and online websites to be completely out of it. People began to panic for this reason, and that is when people began to hoard things like dry foods, toilet paper, water, and that is when getting essential items became a huge struggle. Everyone basically had to fight to get the things they needed. Covid-19 changed the whole world, and it was definitely not expected.
