Covid Statistics
There has been 25.3 million recorded cases in total in the US. There has probably been more just they didn't get tested and were feeling fine. 421 thousand of those people have died. These numbers are huge and these are just from the US. When we look at the entire world there has been 99.9 million cases. Only 55.2 million recovered fully. There has also been 2.15 million deaths. That means that currently there are 42.65 million people worldwide with covid, a quarter of which are close to death, and some are probably already dead. In California alone there have been 3.21 million cases reported and 37,999 dead. So many people are dying and getting this disease and we don't have enough room in hospitals to help everyone who needs it. Some hospitals have created space for patients outside in their parking lot and thats still not enough. I personally find it crazy how people can look at these statistics and say that covid is a hoax and not wear a mask. Not only is wearing a mask protecting others but it is also protecting yourself. Most hospitals have had to turn into covid centers just to take care of people who have covid. Most of the patients end up dying. At this point everyone knows at least one person who has gotten covid and probably a few people who have died. If this isn't a sign of how bad covid is getting then I don't know what is. It is hard to look out at the world and see what a mess it has become. In the end I don't know if we will ever recover fully but as long as we try to stop covid as soon as possible we still have a chance of returning to the way it was. -

COVID Rules
During covid a lot of new rules have come into place. The main one is masks. This rule just makes it so that we have to wear a face mask whenever we go into a public area. I feel like this rule is important because it slows down the rate of which covid is spreading. I also think that masks can be annoying sometimes but that putting up with it is worth it if it means that we can be more safe. Another new rule is social distancing. This is where we have to stay 6 feet apart from each other at all times. I also think this rule is important to stop close interactions since we never know who has covid and who doesn't. This rule is harder to follow though because it means that we have to reduce the number of people allowed in a store at one time. -

My Christmas During COVID
This year for Christmas we all stayed at my dads house. I got LED lights and a lot of chocolate honeycomb. We usually go out to eat for dinner but this year because of COVID we had to stay home. We also wanted to have friends over but they couldn't make it because they ended up getting COVID. It felt strange not being able to do everything we normally do for Christmas such as watching my little sister see "santa clause". -

Now vs. Before COVID
My life before COVID was just going to school, sports (tennis and dance), then going home to eat dinner and going to bed so I can repeat the process the next day. Now during COVID I wake up and go straight to my computer to start school, after I finish school I practice online dance lessons and sometimes play tennis and then I eat dinner and go to bed. I think I knew things were going to change when my sisters school shut down and my friends and I started talking about this new disease that is spreading. -

My COVID Thanksgiving
For my COVID Thanksgiving, I was able to drive 7 hours to see my cousins who I haven't seen in a while. We cooked a small meal and all ate it together on Thanksgiving day. We weren't allowed to have any friends over and we weren't allowed to leave the house that often. In the end it was fun but it got boring from not being able to do much.
