  Statistics and Final Thoughts

  There has been about 99.3 million cases worldwide in about a year. They are still growing daily. About 54.8 million people have recovered. Some of family has recovered when their whole household has gotten it. About 5 millions deaths worldwide. My great grandma is one of the 5 million that have died. She was 102 when someone brought it into her living home. She passed quickly and we are having a funeral soon. Everyone I have known who has gotten COVID has recovered except for the one.

  Symptoms

  I have only had 1 family member get COVID-19. It was my great grandma (102) who passed a few days ago due to COVID-19. She had trouble breathing and One of the people in her home must have brought it to her. One of my teachers also got COVID-19. He said that he only had like a fever for a few days but still doesn't feel 100%. One of my friends family went to dinner with someone with the rona but didn't know at the time. They found out and freaked. Emily and I were at their house when they found out. They all got tested and were negative which made sense because none of them felt bad. My step-aunt and her house got COVID and they all had different symptoms. One kid lost taste and the other lost smell. My aunt got a fever and my uncle had trouble breathing. The symptoms of COVID-19 are all different.

  rules and procedures

  For COVID-19, there are many rules to follow. Some are wearing a mask and being socially distanced. I have had a struggle following these in my everyday life. I think that some don't make sense because of others. For example, having to wear a mask outside, even though the government says that outside is wear you can take your mask off. They totally cancel each other. One of my teachers got COVID-19 and I had to stay home for 1 week to make sure that I am ok. I personally don't understand this because I have no symptoms and feel fine. Over all, it is a lot of work to go anywhere because of all of the rules.

  Online learning

  In the beginning, I got up earlier for school at 7:15 because school started at 8. In the end, I got up at 7:50, because I got so bored of looking at my computer and didn't want to get up. It was good because I could hang out with my mom or sisters during the day. That was also the worse too, I got so sick of seeing the same people everyday. I think that the worst part of online school was that you didn't interact with anyone. I also didn't like being on my computer/zoom all day, because it got so boring. Also if you had a question about homework you had to email your teachers and sometimes they didn't reply until after the homework was due. I have to admit that our school made it very easy, but stilll had us engaged the whole time. It had its pros and cons.

  The Beginning

  It was around January 2020 , when I heard of what COVID-19 was. When I first found out that it was in China, in the markets, I have to admit that I was a little relieved that it wasn't near us in Ventura County California. I also remember wanting to learn more about it. I had two main question. How and when? I wanted to know how did this virus come to be. And when did it happen, how long has it been happening. I didn't find complete answers for either. I just found rumors about how it came to be because no one knew. The two most popular reasons were, that it was created in a lab to reduce the population in China/ and experiment went wrong. The other was that the bats in the water markets were dirty and gave the food a virus that the people then ate, which injected them with the virus. I didn't really know which to believe so I started looking into the other question. What I saw for that one was November 2019 but know really knew because China doesn't release information to the public. Over all, none of my question we answered, which made me fear what was going to happen in the future.
