Wait Here
Wait here. This was the story of Covid Life. We had to wait in specific spots, and not crowd registers until called on. This happened quite often, especially at the pharmacies! -

Masks at the Child Development Lab on Campus
Today, after 2 weeks without daycare, ASU reopened its daycare on campus. I dropped my son off at the CDL daycare this morning, and all the kids are now required to wear a mask. This was not a big deal, because I won't let my son go grocery shopping with me unless he wears a mask, he sees his older sister wearing a mask, so the process is normalized. Last night CVS was selling kids masks with a 2-for-1 sale. Since masks always going missing at home, I bought a new one for each of them. This morning I gave one to my son Juli, and it disappeared. He claimed it was in his backpack, but I looked over the bag and didn't see it. So I gave him the second mask, the only clean one left and when I put him in the car I noticed he didn't have the mask. He said it was in his backpack, which I checked quickly and didn't see. I was frustrated and grabbed a mask out of the dirty laundry. On arriving at the CDL, he didn't want to wear the third mask because it was "stinky." I'm sure it was. I told his caregiver what happened and she said they could give him a disposable mask. I took the stinky mask and shoved it in my purse. 10 minutes later the caregiver texted to say she found both cloth masks in his bag, and everything was fine. My poor 3-year-old was right, and I was too frantic to see the truth. I feel like a hot mess mom today. -

CVS Changes Policy to be more LGBTQ Inclusive
CVS changed COVID-19 vaccination registration form to be more trans/ LGBTQ friendly. Originally, the form asked people to mark their birth sex in order to get the vaccine however, now they have removed the question. The CDC has come out and said it is important to only ask about the gender identity not the gender on the birth certificate. CVS has issued a statement stating that sex, gender, race, or ethnicity does not hinder people from getting the vaccine. -

MW: Should I Get Tested
The CVS next to my house offers COVID tests. The test is the nose swab one and I really don't want that. I have gotten a nose swab before and remember it being very unpleasant. However, I have been exposed to a situation where I may potentially have been exposed. I don't have any symptoms but the thought of the nose swab is stressful. I wish they had less invasive tests near me. -

COVID-19 Test Results
In June, the tutoring company I worked for decided to bring us back into the office to work in-person after we'd worked remotely for a few months. About two weeks after starting back, I nearly failed a pre-work temperature check, started having a bad cough, and developed other symptoms of COVID-19. Thankfully this was the last day I had to work in person for a few days. I decided to go to CVS to go get tested for the virus when I hadn't improved the next day. My mom ended up driving me to the CVS. The branch that I went to had drive-thru testing, and I ended up not being able to take my test until 30 minutes after my appointment because of the influx of people getting tested. When it was my turn, the pharmacist handed my mom the test through the dropbox where they usually pass medicine through. The test kit had two disinfectant wipes, a pair of disposable gloves, the swab, a plastic bag with my name on it, and a test tube. The first wipe was for me to disinfect my hands before touching anything else in the bag. Then, I put on the gloves and grabbed the swab. This swab was long and pointy, and when I inserted it into my nose it made me sneeze. Once I finished swabbing both sides of my nostrils, the swab went into the test tube and the test tube went into the plastic bag. I used the final wipe to wipe down the outside of the bag before handing it to my mother to put into this biohazard box the CVS had installed outside. It took a week to get my results back, despite the estimated 3-day timeline. Though my test was negative, it still changed my life for the next months. My grandfather had chronic respiratory problems, and since social distancing was near-impossible in my tutoring job, I took cut hours in order to go back to working remotely. Testing Not at CVS
When I went through the drive through at CVS, I noticed they had put a sign on the window to let people know that CVS did not have the ability to give people tests. I assume people must have been asking since they have other Minute Clinic testing options. -

One of Those International Students
As an international student, what we discussed recently is that if going home is a smart move. When the first case was found in U.S., people started to buy tons of foods, water, toilet paper, etc. I went to CVS to purchase mask to protect myself but the assistant told me that was sold out as soon as the news was reported. However, I seldom see people on the street with a mask. I saw many of international students went back home several days ago. But the way back home was not as easy as usual under this situation, they wore professional white clothes which can cover all aspects to not get the virus, and with professional glasses, N95 mask. I think the airport is dangerous so I decided not to go home. -

One of Those International Students
As an international student who decided to stay in the U.S., I would like to say that at the beginning of the first case was found in the U.S., people started to crazily purchase food, vegetables, water, toilot paper, etc. When I found out that I should collect some mask for myself, I went to CVS to buy them, but the assistant told me that it was sold out as the news was reported. I was so confused that why the mask was sold out but there's no one on the street wearing a mask? I discussed about this one time with my professor, she told me that in American culture, people consider wearing a mask as have cancer. But in my culture, wearing mask is a way to not only protect myself but also good for others. As the virus spread, I saw several news about some ASIAN wearing a mask and was bullied. Things should not go like this. That's racist! My family worried about me everyday and what I can do is telling them I'm fine plz don't worry, I am staying at home and super safe. So many international students decided to go home but I don't think this is a smart move. Now, China has changed policies that they reduce the flights from other countries to China, which makes me upset. This is not a responsible decision under this situation. -

Limits on High Demand Products
This hand-made sign lists items that, due to their high demand, have a limit on how many items customers can buy when they are in stock. This sign highlights the continued scarcity of certain necessities such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and surgical face masks among other items. Even over halfway through March, these products are still in high demand and the shelves are often empty, forcing management of CVS to limit what each customer can buy to ensure as many people obtain the items they need. -

This image shows a sign that reminds customers to engage in social distancing in accordance with recommendations by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO). The sign was located on a small display next to the registers and was one of many. These signs highlight the importance of social distancing but also the necessity of reminding people to engage in the practice as it is not a common practice. -
