Cases of Cvid
We as a family have only known one person that has had covid and luckily we were never near them when they had it. It was a cousin that lucky couldn't make it to our home for Thanksgiving dinner. After they were in the hospital we got updates about their health almost every day and visited them (with masks) after they tested negative and feel much better. I personally would never want to get it because I heard it could cause damage permanently and you could be in the hospital for weeks. So I guess we were very lucky to not have someone with covid at our dinner table for Thanksgiving this year. -

Covid Positives that Effected Me
One Covid positive that effected me was my nanny. She lives with us and one day she visited her mom. When she came back, she had covid. She had to go stay with her mom while she quarantined, and my whole family had to get tested. Although we were negative, we still had to quarantine for a week. I didn't get to do any sports or hang out with any friends. -

Personal COVID Story in 2020
It was during Christmas time, and my aunt wasn't feeling too good. She went to get tested and she tested positive. I had seen her on Christmas day, and she felt sick a few days later. It didn't really affect me, but I got scared thinking that I might have it because I was near her during Christmas. I ended up not getting COVID, thank the Lord. -

Our Thanksgiving During Covid
My Thanksgiving this year was different in many ways. First it was a lot shorter and we ate outside instead of inside. We were all at separate tables based on our household. It was not as fun being separated but we were still able to talk. There were less family members this year than we have had in the past. Sometimes my moms side of the family comes for Thanksgiving but they couldn’t this year because of Covid. We usually all serve our own food from big platters in the kitchen but this year my mom and dad served everyone their plates full of food and brought them outside to everyone at their tables. It was so cold outside and very windy which was hard and normally we would be inside at our dining room table, where it’s warm. Thanksgiving this year was the same because we made the same kinds of food and had a ton of leftovers but there were a lot of things that were different too. -

Thanksgiving in a Pandemic
This year's Thanksgiving was like no other. What is usually a day full of family and friends, became a day of distancing. I was not able to see all of my family, but thankfully my mom, dad, and brother were still there. We tried to keep our traditions, like making the turkey, baking pies...etc, but covid was really wrecking my parade. During dinner we tried to space ourselves out, but it didn't last for long. We decided that we had to take a break and just give one another something as simple as a hug. Even though my whole family wasn't there, we still ended up having a great time. At first it was hard to find things to be grateful for, just because of this hectic year, but by the end, I had a whole list put together. Even throughout this...interesting day, me and my family still found the joys in being together, and staying healthy. -

Highlights of my experience on the Covid-19 season
My Covid-19 experiences were surely pleasant because I have never experience a pandemic until now, but at the same time were a little sad because I couldn’t go to fun places like paint balling, friends houses, restaurants, and more. I still liked when we could go to some places that weren’t exposed to coronavirus, like when I went to Temecula with my family and aunt family, also when I went to my grandparents ranch house, when I could go to my Nana’s house and Aunty house. So that are some things that I got to experience this year. -

What is Covid?
January 2020 is when I first got knowledge of some pandemic in the world. My school at the time didn't give a Honors Science class for 7th grade so I was stuck with people who messed around a lot. They would always talk about themselves passing on what they called Covid. It wasn't though until 3-5 weeks later when my entire district was pulled out of school because of Covid, they thought it would only last a few weeks, but me and my friends already knew it would last much longer. 2 weeks went by of no knowledge at all being given for me to learn and being bored with my entire family in the house. We are very fortunate so far, as my parents worked at companies that were benefiting from Covid. My Dad's company benefited from more people using Wi-Fi and my Mom because she worked at a Drug Company where she right now is releasing a treatment for Lung Cancer. Eventually School went into remote learning, we almost learned nothing as the entire system was wack. We always talked about how when the election came, it would get better, it did, for a week. When it came to Summer my parents made the smart and expensive decision to move me and my brother to a private school, after getting into it we started finally relaxing as some loose end were getting tied, we also got a puppy mini labradoodle the is black, we call him Leo and he is our 'Covid baby'. With Covid regulations changing all the time we had to not only learn new rules, but even sometimes had to get certain masks and coverings. Like when you pick up food, or when you dine out, it was all changed, and will still change. Everyone I meet believes that we (U.S. government) could have done better, I agree, but the past is the past and we just have to live with those decisions. Finally we might go back to school again in January after Winter Break, I hope we do. That is how so far my life had went with a Virus that encroached us from all possible angles. -

Life when Covid-19 was only a rumor
It was about mid February when I first hear about Covid. I didn't think much of it because all it was to me was a disease in another country. I remember seeing classmates Instagram stories making jokes about it. I wasn't worried even if it did effect America it would be like the flu. I could never had imaged what state the whole world would be like. There was this time in science class when my friend coughed I laughed and said "wow you probably have covid". It was a joke and nothing more. A few of my Friends where on the schools Italy trip at that time. I was still talking with them so I figured the county was okay. But when they got back everybody was nervous and Italy shut down. None of them had Covid so I took it as a false alarm. A lot of the middle school became more worried and I didn't understand why the adults didn't care as much. I still don't know exactly why but my best guess is because it was on social media before the news. -

Before the Covid-19 Lockdown
Life was normal. I would go to school in the morning, at school nothing was out of the ordinary. Before class started everyone would be gathered together talking to their friends without any concern for a disease to be spreading. I swim as a sport and also play soccer. So, on weekends competitions happened regularly. I had a swim meet in February of 2020, it was an indoor meet and there were many people there. It was a normal swim meet and it was great. Then, weeks later on the last day of in person school everything was different. Some people still congregated into groups to talk, however others like myself had heard on the news of a spreading virus and tried to maintain what was a new term at the time "social distancing." This small change indicated many new changes to come. -

Perspective of how I see covid
So when this whole thing started people knew what it was but no one really thought of it. Nothing really changed besides that people started to use sanitizer and things like that to stay clean. After a while there were rumors that things were going to close down. Then those rumors became true, school started to go online and everything started to close down. People were buying toilet paper and necessities and it was hard to find those things in any stores, masks were mandated and everything was closed and we were on a mandatory lockdown. I am a person that loves going to restaurants and taking out food just wasn't good, so i was trying to make food a lot at my house and I have almost burnt down my house multiple times. Life was really boring and you couldn’t see friends or family. U would facetime with relatives and friends all the time because of this. That is basically what happened from my perspective of the pandemic. -

2020 in a Nutshell!
At the beginning of 2020, COVID-19 was nothing but a distant problem. Something to pitty other countries for having. Then one day, we found out that the Corona Virus was here, amoungst us in the United States, even in our own local comunity. When that happened I was very worried because my mom was going to a club with some people whom originally came from China to the US. My entire family was wonderig if we were safe. My parents were on the verge of taking me out of school right when the schools shut down for good. After that happened my family shut ourselves off from the world, we weren't allowed to see even our neighbors or our closest friends. I was racing mountain bikes competitively for the Newbury Park Mountain Bike Team, and at the time that was my only form of interraction what so ever. When that shut down, I didn't know what to do. I was so bored! We stayed in isolation for another month and a halfe. We decided to pass the time by build big mountain bike jumps in our backyard, but even that got old after a while. Then, finally, we were allowed to go outside of our house/backyard. The first thing we did was go reconnect with our friends whom are all mountain bikers. We were all just getting back in to it, but things were relaxing little by little. Untill things finally started to open back up. As soon as Mammoth opened we rushed up there for a week. The mountain bike park was crazy. There was almost nobody there, and we were required to load our own bikes and had to keep masks on the whole time. We loved it so much that we came back just 3 weeks later. The second time things were a little more relaxed. We were still required to wear a mask in line, but not while riding. We were aslo not required to load our own bikes. After that we came back home. We only had a few days untill school was going to go back online. When school started everything was pretty similar to last year when we were on ZOOM. I was fine untill the end of November when Thanks Giving happened and there were lots of people traveling. COVID-19 started to spike again and my family started to take things more seriously. Up untill this point when i am writing this, nothing has chaged from then. I'm hoping this will all be over soon. -

The School Shutdown
It was March 15, 2020, and everybody had been hearing about this crazy virus in China that was killing people. The first American had gotten it and brought it over. Everybody was scared. Back in February my schedule was normal. I'd wake up at 7:00 AM and get to school at 7:45 AM. I remember the morning on the 15th where we had been hearing about this virus getting serious and then when I came downstairs and my told me that the school had just sent an email that we had 2 more days of regular school and then we'd go online. They said that we would come back before the end of the year but I knew that wasn't going to happen.
