pandemic reflections
I wonder if I am being overly optimistic thinking about the end of the pandemic. On one hand, more and more people around the world are receiving vaccines, more and more countries renewed flights in-between them; ASU claimed that instructions will be in-person during the next fall; Moscow authorities lifted the restrictions for the seniors. On the other hand, only a small percentage of people have received the vaccine; new strains of the virus emerge. Some European countries renew lockdowns. Only the time will tell, I guess. -

Putin Not Allowed To Take Russian Vaccine
Interesting how Donald Trump was given experimental treatments for his COVID-19 incident but Vladimir Putin is not allowed to take the Russian vaccine. This is not a good look for the vaccine. China Distributing Vaccine
One day this will be the U.S. This was extremely fast to produce a vaccine. Less then 1 year. Incredible how medicine has transformed. Can we trust China? We have been fed constant doses of fear. China and Russia are the enemy per U.S propoganda. I don't plan on being one of the first to take the vaccine. How many people will rush to take it? -

Who Will Win The Vaccine Race?
Who will win the vaccine race? With so much money on the line. Watching these events unfold live as tensions with United States and Russia are flagarant, have been interesting. The US denounces Russias vaccine yet, Egypt trusts it enought to purchase 25 million doses. Will the vaccine cause problems? Is the race to a vaccine truly about saving people? Perhaps the race for the vaccine is all about monetary gain? As the race for a vaccine continues, it is interesting to watch national debates and alliances crafted and dismantled. -

Russian Ballet Returned to the Stage. Then a Covid Outbreak Hit.
This article discusses the Mariinsky Ballet, one of Russia's premier ballet companies. As Europe is a bit ahead of the United States in reopening their performing arts, they began performing in July, in the middle of the COVID pandemic, only to have to close three weeks later when the virus spread throughout the ballet corps. Since then, the Mariinsky Ballet has been criticized for returning to the stage too early, despite the precautions they made against the virus. This incident has caused several other ballet companies across Europe to rethink their own return to the stage. In spite of these issues, many dancers are also wanting to return to the stage. -

PORA experts suggest training indigenous peoples of the North in entrepreneurship
“Representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North who are engaged in traditional types of economic activity need educational programs in the field of entrepreneurship…It was held in an online format and was devoted to the problems of the economic activities of the indigenous peoples of the North in their territories of residence and traditional nature management. It is necessary to move away from understanding traditional forms of economic activity as archaic…It is important to understand that areas such as reindeer herding use both modern technology and the export of goods, the expert said. At the meeting, representatives of the Arctic and subarctic regions identified problems and contradictions in the legislation that regulates traditional nature management…People who traditionally live in these territories most often do not have the means to compete with investors from other regions of Russia, who can also participate in the auction. It would be more appropriate to provide land on a competitive basis, supported by Zhanna Holm, deputy head of the Agency for the Development of the Northern Territories and Support of Indigenous Minorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory…” #IndigenousStories -

History
When school number 22 was closed for the second time in my life, it was a shock for me. Imagine: one morning on March 14, I woke up and looked at the time "10:00 in the morning." Me: “What is happening? Why am I not at school? And my brother enters the room and asks me, as always: "Cho, have you been sleeping so long?" Am I so cho? Then mom comes and says: “Daughter, the school was quarantined again.” That day I did not know what this means (relatively recently, the school was quarantined, but only because of the flu in February). Then my family stayed at home for a month and a half ... then we all went outside, but for a while (half an hour) we walked a bit. we are sitting in the house again. You know, it’s scary, scary to realize that your life and the life of loved ones are in danger ((This is very, very scary. Constant threats to life. And yes, thanks to all the doctors, nurses and other people who are saving hundreds of lives right now ... -

Russia 2020. Our government decided that it’s better not to have “Emergency situation” and official quarantine. Russian citizens instead have “self-isolation”.In this case we all need to stay home, BUT no money were added to our accounts, no food provided from government or any kind of support at all. Instead, they decided that citizens without job, money and support need to pay fines every time they are on the street. What a great idea! And just before COVID-19 Russian Ruble felt dramatically because our government decided to have even more oil then before...Thanks again. Now we have: millions of poor people trying to survive, billioners get more money than before, government has more money from fines, but none spent on citizens, all small business shut down and have no chance to recover. In this situation any other country would help their own citizens. But Russia as a very generous country sent help to China,USA,Italy and other countries. Don’t worry, we don’t have sufficient quantity of doctors and medical resources, medicine in Russia will survive somehow. So would people. And everything after this pandemia...not going to change. Our country forgot about us. -

There was no plague
There was no plague whatsoever. The hospitals and clinics were closed and empty. In my city (Rostov-on-Don) we had some dozens of registered infected people, virtually noone was in a severe condition. Tests were 60% precise at most, so multiple tests were necessary, like 3. So that you will get a false positive result for sure. People were scared, 70% wore masks nd gloves. Citizens were forbidden to leave home, but we did not abide those rule, because everyone saw that they were unnecessary. I repeat one more time: no plague in South-Western Russia. -

Hopeless laziness
I want to tell you about my expiriense of covid-19 isolation. I'm a little man, 26 age, programmer, introvert, therefore, I endure isolation almost painlessly. At my student times I sat at home during weeks which served as a good preparation for the present situation. I almost don't suffer from a lack of live communication, becouse I have a lot of friends at web, and we can call to eachouthers every day and spend our time by playing computer games. But anyway I have one big problem via covid-19. It is a bigest procrastination. I want to change my job, and thereby need learn a lot of materials, but all this decadent atmosphere making me lost my time and procrastinating. This is horrible. Looks like this pandemic situation indulges to my lazy demons, becouse all people don't do nothing, therefore, I do the same. >_< . Or maybe I justify my laziness in this way. Any way, I know, that all this problems end, and life will return to it's course again. This pandemic don't scared me, but I learned that I must be ready to meet face to face situations, which I can’t influence in any way. -

*"The pandemic disconnected me and the person I got acquainted with..."
The pandemic disconnected me and the person I got acquainted with just before the lockdown in Moscow, but I know the meeting was crucial for both of us and was the beginning of something great in the future. The disease is stealing the time and the chances we could use to finally change our lives. But the worst part is that I have no opportunity to contact him and simply tell to be careful and stay home. Whatever I did to reach him, whenever I sent emails or whoever asked to tell him the thing, I got nothing. All my messages were ignored or made fun of and sent to trash bins. Probably good intentions are never good enough to be heard? It’s feeling like a glass cage-in the internet and globalisation century you can’t provide a person with a care, at least it could change things for the better for him? I wish I was aware if he is okay because no one knows when the pandemic will end and no one can be sure he will survive until it does. There was no day I didn’t recalled our meeting, feels like it wasn’t 4 months but just few hours ago. I was so eager to meet him again and discuss so many things we both like, I’m sure we’re meant for each other and finally our paths crossed. Now all I pray for is not to see his death on the news one day. I know that probably he even doesn’t remember me already but I don’t care. Imagine you cannot care of a beloved person and have no idea how he’s feeling and never do the same mistakes humanity is doing right now. If you’re the person who is able to help someone for good or have an ability to connect somebody, please, forget arrogance and disregard and help. Sometimes it’s not this difficult and doesn’t require too much effort from you, but could save life. Be kind. -
