A City Once Busy
I once used to walk this street on my way to work at a restaurant. I always loved how busy it was, seeing the streets overcrowded with people who had places to be. When I lost my job because of the pandemic in March I had to go home for 7 months. At the beginning I think we all thought that things would have turned around by the time the leaves started to fall. When I came back, I went downtown to visit the restaurant I had once worked at. The restaurant was boarded up still and the streets were mostly empty, and I felt kind of empty too. -

Dear Anti-Maskers
One common sight to behold during the pandemic was the signs posted within business’ storefront windows mandating masks to be worn to slow the spread of the coronavirus. In early June 2020 as the city of Chicago entered their Phase 3, which allowed for local businesses to reopen, some store owners used creative messages such as this one to enforce required mask mandates. The sign above, which I noticed on the Chicago Bagel Authority’s Belmont location—six miles north of the Chicago Loop—is a symbol of the city’s efforts to mask up, specifically targeting groups known as “anti-maskers.” -

The Difficulties of a College Student During a Pandemic
During the start of the school semester of spring 2020, talks of a very contagious illness stated to spread. Most students on campus believed COVID-19 to be a threat nut one month later, all colleges across the world shut down. While moving out, my friend's dad said we would be back that same semester. I believed him until infection rates increased across the United States. States started to shut down including the one I lived in. Restrictions, isolation, and guidelines were enforced to ensure public safety. Instead, thousands of people went into depression including me. Not being able to leave my house during the pandemic was difficult. Not only was I hundreds of miles away from my friends at school, but I couldn't see my friends at home too. My experience with online class didn't make interacting with people any easier. Most of my classes didn't require the camera to be on, while the other class didn't even meet online. This was very difficult for me because I was used to being around friends everyday. I started to become depressed as I spent 2 months without interacting with anyone but my family and my teacher. Fortunately, restrictions eased up as the spring semester came to a close. I was able to get a job at a donation center for the summer. I still wasn't allowed to see my friends which made for a disappointing summer but working helped the time go by. When it was time to go back to college, I was relieved. My college was fortunate enough to have students on campus for the fall 2020 semester. I was overly excited to see any friends after months. I counted down the days until we moved in. But I knew the semester would be different. When arriving on campus, I learned that several rules and regulations were implemented to "keep the community safe." Some of these included no visiting anyones dorm room, scheduling when to eat, certain doors were entrances while others were exits, no guests from off campus, must wear a green bracelet at all times, must get randomly tested, etc. I made sure to read the rules and regulations but unfortunately, my roommates didn't. The very first night on campus, my roommates decided to have friends over. I told my roommates that it wasn't allowed but it did not matter. The guests stayed until there was banging at the door. The Resident Assistant working that night wrote us up, and we had to meet with the Dean. While meeting with the Dean, I explained how it was not my fault and I was against having guests over, but I was charged with a $200 fine. Completely upset, I change all my classes to online classes and moved back home. I did not trust my roommates enough to stay. The last thing I wanted was several fines that weren't my fault. When I got home, I was really depressed. I was the only one home out of all my friends and I was back to remote learning. I couldn't see anyone while home and I felt betrayed by my roommates. I felt like my life was crumbling as another semester of my college experience was being wasted. This caused me to have a mental breakdown, and lose all motivation to do work. Four months passed by slowly and I escaped the semester with mediocre grades and a crippling mind. Fortunately, my parents noticed I was not in the best shape of mind. They had me see a therapist and find new activities to do during the pandemic. This got me back on my feet and my friends from home started returning from school. The gap between semesters when well and I was joyful again. However, it was time to decide if I wanted to return to campus for the 2021 Spring Semester. I was torn because some of my friends were staying home that semester and I still did not trust my roommates. I thought rationally and contacted them to see our their semester went. To my surprise, they received 4 fines and one of them had to quarantine. This gave me reassurance that I made the right choice on leaving campus during the fall semester. Currently I am taking the 2021 Spring Semester all remotely and I am happy. I am seeing friends and have synchronous classes. I am confident that I will keep seeing my friends at home and keep a good mindset throughout the semester. I wish for everyone to stay strong during the pandemic and seek help if you're depressed. -

The Immorality of Being Happy in a Pandemic
As a student who goes to a very tight knit Catholic College, nothing has split the community on campus quite like this. The issue comes with balancing the benefits of an in person education with maintaining a healthy social life compounded by inconsistent rule enforcement. From my perspective, there is a scale for how seriously people follow the COVID protocols, on one end there are people who religiously follow every rule, and on the other, people who go at great lengths to break them and think nothing of going to a packed club. The student body sits everywhere in between these two poles. The difference in opinion causes the people who follow the rules to resent the people who break the rules. They see it as reckless and selfish that some students hold their interests in a higher regard than the well being of their classmates. The people who break the school’s quarantine were tired of never leaving their dorm and argue that college is meant to be fun and if you have to bend the rules to see friends that's acceptable. I’ve seen these disagreements split dorm rooms, best friends, sports teams and classmates. Without a common area to communicate our differences we are only left to passive aggressively hate through social media. Very often people's views on following the “Community Care Covenant” depends on how convenient it is to them. It is very easy to condemn off campus partiers when it is a Thursday night with no plans to go out and a lot of homework to do. It becomes just as easy to mock the frivolity of the rules when your friends are going out and leave you with the option of being lonely or finding enjoyment. I have been both amused and exasperated to see some of my acquaintances with strong liberal views condemn Trump and anti-maskers on all platforms for refusing to accept the sound science of social distancing and covering one's mouth. Then not even an hour later they will post from the same account a picture of them at a two-hundred person house party, drink in hand, and not a mask in sight. As if them claiming their intentions are pure makes their actions irrelevant. I have seen this every weekend and am dumbfounded with the lack of self awareness some people show. In the name of honesty I will admit that I feel this contradiction personally. I scroll through my phone and get jealous and annoyed by posts of my college peers in large groups, without masks, clustered together. Unfortunately, even though I agree with all the social distancing precautions things change when I have the opportunity for fun. One year into having almost every single conversation being with the same eight people, I long for the college experience. As much as I dislike going against rules that I personally agree with there is no end in sight to this pandemic. Besides, I rationalize, my friends and I are all healthy and would not purposefully endanger elders. So despite people like me self-righteously shaking our fists and quarantine breakers, I do feel strong temptations to do so. For example, I had not seen my girlfriend in weeks and the new relationship we had started was dying due to long distance. Do I break protocol by taking her on a date and spending time with her? Yes, I did. When friends I had not seen since first semester freshman year asked me my second semester sophomore year to join them for drinks. Do I follow the rules and stay in my dorm watching television, or do I go into junior year with more than two friends? There is a huge culture of hypocrisy at all levels, whether it be the students or the school itself. The school, sadly, is not innocent of responsibility for some of these divisions. The school refuses to allow men and women to visit each other in their dorms, but as the saying goes “out of sight out of mind” as the athletic teams and others have off-campus parties just a mile away the school would have to be fools not to notice. My friends and I are not allowed to play basketball in the gym. But if we are out of the public eye in a secluded part of campus, fifty people can play pick up sports. Sure the campus police will not break up bonfires in the woods and won’t bat an eye when several packed cars leave campus at the same time but four people can not eat lunch together. Most people seem to be concerned about covering their own behinds rather than any sort of actual safety. To conclude, this is not an easy time for anybody. There have been plenty of tough decisions to make and things are not so black and white as campus rules would like to believe. Having fun is hard work in COVID America. The social pressures at this school continue to weigh heavily on those who do their best to do the ‘right thing’. Like I said earlier, there is a large scale of where people's beliefs over COVID policy lands, but I think I can speak for college students everywhere when I say, I cannot wait for this to return to normal. -

Covid-19 Experience
poem The world was fine, Because we were all able to physically intertwined. We were able to roam the streets freely, Walk the park carelessly, Praise in church effortlessly, And enter our homes easily. For the past year, Livelihood has been invaded by a monster called covid-19. The WHO has declared a world pandemic. New protocols in place in order to win drastically. We are told to stay indoors, Wash our hands frequently and wear a mask when outdoors. No more social gathering, visiting friends or family. Life has become a solitary If we disobey, The monster virus will lend our life journey. Thousands have been killed and millions affected. It attacks the human lungs, That makes breathing feel like misery. Compared to the flu, It makes one sneeze and cough, With unbearable body pain. We just got to keep praying that God keeps and protects us during this time. Despite the introduction of a weapon vaccine to take control. The frustration, anxiety and fear kicks in daily. Still wondering when will life return to normalcy. -

Covid Threat
My dad was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2019 and it came as a shock to all off us. He started chemotherapy in February of 2020, and a as a result of his treatment his immune system was becoming weak. My dad continued to get better but the issue became about his immune system and covid. Covid-19 became a big issue for the United States in March so my family was very worried about getting sick for my dad since his immune system was getting weaker. As a result of this, my family and I did not go out and see other people CDC guidelines would be violated. This meant none of my siblings and I could ever truly hangout with our friends over the entire summer and Christmas break. Some people were violating Covid restrictions and stay at home orders, however, we could not because my family and I could not take the risk of getting my dad sick. While our friends were all hanging out we could not go because the risk wasn't worth the potential outcome of getting our dad sick. Even after some of the covid restrictions got lifted towards the end of 2020 I could still not go out because my dad could not get sick. This picture represents what me and my family would do since we could not hang out with our friends or extended family. We would play board games and would do trivia with our extended family. This was not ideal for me and my siblings because we wanted to hang out with our friends, but we knew we could not. Many families endured this over the course of this pandemic. Even just seeing your grandparents was hard to do because they are old and cannot get sick with covid. Many families including mine sacrificed seeing their other family because it was too big of a risk to see them and potentially get covid. This picture is an important representation of my covid experience because it brought me and my family closer together during a hard time. We spent a lot more time playing games and just hanging out with each other over the several months we were home from school. -

Rules
There are a lot of rules to follow in this pandemic. The main rule is that you have to wear a mask everywhere you go so that you don't get anyone sick and so you don't get sick. Second you have to social distance from everybody. Third you have to wash your hands or put hand sanitizer on all the Time but that wasn't a problem for my family because we have always done the wash your hands/ hand sanitizer and don't touch your face if you hands are dirty. Lastly we did a great job following the rules this year. -

Social Distancing and Quarantine Were Used in Medieval Times to Fight the Black Death
A medieval Italian legislation document, dating from 1377, reveals that social distancing and quarantine measures were practiced during the bubonic plague. The article describes what measures seaport towns took to screen and isolate ships before their goods and crews could enter these populations Also, it discusses the advent of plague hospitals, how the word quarantine came to be, and 14th century public health structure. As far as medicine and technology has advanced over the centuries, we are still using some of the same practices that were used seven centuries ago. It illustrates how much we can still learn from the past. -

Covid Statistics
Overall, I believe that my brother's (unconfirmed) case and my history teacher are the only people I personally know who got Covid. The high number of cases has my parents worried and all the social distancing and mask protocols in place. Also, the times people my parents know got Covid line up with the spikes on the graph during holidays and such. At the beginning of Covid I was rather happy to get to be at home all day but now I'm sick of it and the fact that I can't meet with people. -

Mental Health Care Was Severely Inequitable, Then Came the Coronavirus Crisis
This article describes how the Covid-19 pandemic has compounded the mental health disparity in the United States. As the title suggests, those suffering from mental illness already did not receive equitable treatment; the pandemic has widened this inequality through a variety of issues, chiefly, disruption of service that was already minimal. -

How I (Barely) Get/Got Through Quarantine
I was expecting junior year to be absolutely terrible since I was in eighth grade. I did nit think it would be spent in quarantine; making it almost twenty times worse. In my opinion, emailing questions and online tutoring cannot compete against in-person education. However, I do not want to risk others lives for selfish reasons. It is quite frustrating, seeing that our 45th president was incompetent. People seem to be more and more selfish everyday; valuing their comfort and fun over others’ lives. I hope we can go back to school before senior year starts. It is would be quite depressing to have freshman year be your only full year of high school. It is also quite depressing to have (almost since not quite) spent two birthdays in quarantine. In a little over a year, I will be a legal adult and will have spent my last teen years in quarantine. I am bitter. However, there were some happy times spent in quarantine. I was able to form a (better) relationship with my family. I was able to bake and exercise more and my mental health became *slightly* more stable. BTS are my favorite artists. I could write whole essays on why. However, if this ever gets onto an AP test in the future, I don’t want to be that person that makes you want to cry. I would know. Simply put, BTS has touched and saved millions of lives all over the world. They have broken millions of language barriers and stereotypes. They challenged the concept of masculinity and have stayed humble throughout. Coming from lowly beginnings, they have evolved and become brilliant people, artists, and role models. They are special to many. They also receive a lot of hate; this is not new. All of it stems from jealousy, racism, and xenophobia. How have BTS affected me? They helped me choose to live. They helped me realize that I was the one that had to save myself. You will hear many stories about them. They helped me love myself. In an era of unrealistic beauty standards pushed upon us through social media, it is almost impossible and kills. They released a single “Dynamite” and an album “BE” with an title track “Life Goes On” in quarantine. In “Dynamite”, their first all English song, they cheered us up and made us smile. They also proved that they were capable of getting Western radio plays and big awards (Grammy nominated); the Western media and industry was just too xenophobic to acknowledge their towering success over a good number of Western artists. In BE, the composed and wrote songs relating to us about how it felt like being in quarantine and encouraging us to keep going. Their title track speaks of the world seeming like it was passing us by as our life feels like it came to a standstill. You should give it a listen. To wrap it all up, I got through quarantine thanks to BTS. It’s like a butterfly reaction. Loving myself leads to confidence which leads to better mental health which leads to more happiness. Of course we still have sad and bad days but much less. -

anime v kdrama race in quarantine
staying at home made me binge more dramas and animes. they help with de-stressing from school and it's really entertaining. my friends and I would anticipate every week for the newly released episodes of "the promised neverland", "true beauty", "jujutsu kaisen" and many more... i think these shows became the symbol of my quarantine because they make this whole chaos a little more fun. I get to have this little getaway from reality every time I get into these shows that are so unlike reality. i started to listen to the korean boy-band ASTRO because of cha eun-woo and that resulted in stanning other boy-bands, I find it more unique than our American pop songs. even though i enjoy staying at home, i hope our journey of " 6 feet apart" ends soon because i think seeing familiar faces at school motivates me to work harder in school :)) -

Plague of the year
My family member actually came down with the virus. She said she seemed fine and normal. She had to stay in her room for 2 weeks and couldn't even go outside. She got it from one of her friends and she wasn't able to go and see her friends when she stayed in her room. After two weeks, she took another test and tested negative but still wore a mask around the house and whenever she left her room. -

Covid Exposure
We have a night nurse (NCS) come over to take care of my 3 month old sister. One night we were eating food when the night nurse came down and said that she had bad news. She said that she tested positive for Covid but still decided not to wear a mask when telling us and came really close to us. We had to tell her to put on a mask and go because she asked if she should stay regardless of having Covid. This was a week before Christmas so of course it ruined all of our plans and didn't have anyone over. A couple days later after she confirmed she had Covid, we went to get a rapid test, and a normal test in both of my nostrils with a total of 4 swabs and i was very much against it. They all tested negative. We then got tested again a week later with again another 4 swabs. We had a total of 9 swabs so far because i also got one in early quarantine. They felt like they were stabbing at my brain and one time gave me a gushing bloody nose. Luckily we still tested negative but Christmas wasn't as good all because our night nurse didn't tell us that she had an exposure (which she new about for days before telling us). After a couple weeks she tested negative and came back. -

Covid-19 New Norms and Rules
All the new rules revolving around the virus have were strange to get used to but seem normal now. Wearing masks, social distancing, not seeing close people who. may be high risk, etc. If someone was to tell me this would be my life a couple years ago, I would never believe them. It sounds like a different planet, completely different from what I'm used to. -

Rules and procedures
I haven't gone back to school yet so there aren't many rules to follow. The first rule is to wear a mask around people and social distance. There used to be a curfew but that didn't last long. The last rule is we aren't allowed to have big gatherings. -

COVID Rules
During covid a lot of new rules have come into place. The main one is masks. This rule just makes it so that we have to wear a face mask whenever we go into a public area. I feel like this rule is important because it slows down the rate of which covid is spreading. I also think that masks can be annoying sometimes but that putting up with it is worth it if it means that we can be more safe. Another new rule is social distancing. This is where we have to stay 6 feet apart from each other at all times. I also think this rule is important to stop close interactions since we never know who has covid and who doesn't. This rule is harder to follow though because it means that we have to reduce the number of people allowed in a store at one time. -

Rules, Procedures, and My Opinion of them.
For this assignment, we are required to share our feelings about the rules and procedures that we have to follow, not only at school but in our everyday lives. Depending on how long after this is being written that you are reading it, you may have heard of some of the guidelines, such as wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart. Honestly, I have no problem with either of these rules, but the effects that they have ended up having on me have been quite substantial, I cringe slightly whenever I see a movie with many people sitting close together without masks, I feel odd leaving the house without one as well. This has become a new normal, and I am truly not sure how easy it will be to adjust once this is all over. -

New Rules
Before we all had to do this lockdown and have this be normal, we had to get used to some new rules to follow. First of all, we had to get used to wearing masks and now we cant go grocery shopping without one. Another thing they implemented was social distancing. We had to stay 6 feet from every other person around in lines to buy something, in classrooms, etc. We were all under lockdown and now we couldn't even go to school in person. We didn't know when we would be able to go places without a face covering and be able to go hang out and just go back to our normal lives. But we wanted this to happen quickly. -

The Rules of Covid
This time of fear called the Coronavirus came with many rules and restrictions, many being annoying and unpleasant. During this epidemic we have had to wear masks to prevent us from spreading the disease through the air. Another restriction that have to follow is staying six feet apart from other people as to prevent getting the disease through close contact. At the time of writing this I would say that the whole world is sick and tired of having to seclude ourselves from other people. It has gotten to the point where many people are lonely and depressed. -

Rules I have to Follow
In quarantine, we have had to wear masks to avoid the spread of COVID-19. I agreed with the rule through most of 2020 but I have become angry at the fact that everything is still closed. We have flattened the curve as we were told to at the beginning but now we are just causing more homelessness and depression from quarantine and the loss of jobs. Other rules we must follow are those of eating outdoors and not having large gatherings. All these rules have one goal, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 but it is really getting annoying at this point. -

The Laws Of Covid
Since the beginning of Covid masks were a necessity I never minded them unless I was running or exercising still they were annoying at all times and I would have preferred without them. We also have to keep our hands clean and wash all the time for me this hasn't been a big change and unlike, others my hands haven't gotten terribly dry either. One more rule that has truly affected me is small groups of people and in those small groups 6 feet with masks on. This means I can't be with friends or at least I can't be with a lot of them at one time which has risen some complications. So all in all, I can manage through this but it does get annoying after a while. -

Rules are meant to be broken
In my covid experience rules suck. At the beginning of quarentine my mom found out that the Virus was airborne. So, she did not let us go outside for a month. I had to wear a mask all Christmas Eve. I also had to socially distance Christmas morning. My family to be safe abbides by a ton of rules during quarentine. -

Rules in a Pandemic
During the pandemic, there are rules that people are required to follow in California. Some of these rules are incredibly stupid, and some actually make sense. There was a rule for Thanksgiving that you were not allowed to sing. There was also a rule that you could have less people in a party or holiday than a funeral. These rules I find to be incredibly ridiculous, however I do think some rules are noteworthy as being fair to a pandemic, such as social distancing or washing your hands. -

Consider some of the rules or procedures that you have to follow, and tell your feelings about them.
A lot of the new rules I have to follow, I dislike them. They make life a lot more boring and add to all the horrible aspects of life. I am not able to do many of things I was before, such as go to amusement parks or hang out with large groups of people. Not being able to do sports has also been unpleasant. Without them, life has been quite boring. Those were some of my favorite things to do, and I hate that I can not do those things anymore. However I am more than willing to follow these rules to help my fellow citizens stay safe. -

Covid Rules
To be honest there are way too many rules that you have to follow. The most common of course is the wearing a mask every time you are in the same room with a different person. The only problem is that I fell like I might pass out if I wear it for too long. Another one is Only walking in one direction. Here is the problem, You walk around the building and accidently miss your class. Either you go back 20 steps and are forced to turn around by the TA or you complete a full circuit around the building and are tardy, your choice. The next rule I find incredibly annoying. every time you transition classes you are required to get hand sanitizer. The machine ends up giving way more than it should and you send the next 5 minutes trying not to run in to something while looking down and rubbing it on your hands. You also have to do that while trying to walk to your next class. And my personal favorite, just kidding, is social distancing. I you are in break and you are trying to play a game or just talk you must be 6 feet apart. I hate it because you practically have to yell for the person to hear you. -

Rules and Procedures 2020
Some rules and procedures are you wear a mask at all times, stay six feet apart, and stay home. At first I was annoyed with masks because they were uncomfortable but I got used to them. Staying home was fine except I missed my friends. Now we can zoom its not the same as in person but, its still very fun. -

Feelings about rules and procedures during COVID-19
Masks: Masks aren't too bad (unless you wear them for a while), you just have to remember to wear them correctly but it is hard to communicate with them and Plexiglas between you. Social Distancing: It's easy to forget especially when you're with your friends and you want to talk to them. Temperature Check: It's very quick. -

I have to wear a mask everyday, I have to social distance and I have to wash my hands. I think that it is very annoying to wear a mask but you get used to it. Corona Rules
Ever since Corona Virus there has been many new rules and procedures that all of us have had to follow, here are my thoughts and feelings on them. One of the biggest things we have had to do is wear a mask. I feel this is totally unnecessary and not a good rule. If anything only the sick and people who are scared should wear a mask. They are very controlling and considering how not deadly the virus is they are not needed. Social distancing makes no sense at all because they say the masks work so well, then why do we need to stay apart. An example of it not making sense is on a plane. On a plane they fill it completely with people jam packed next to each other for hours, but as soon as you are getting off you have to social distance, it makes no sense. Keeping everyone shut down is not ok. People aren't able to provide for their family because of a virus that's less harmful than the flu. The people that are scared should stay home, but not everyone because the only thing that is happening, is our immune systems are growing weaker and weaker because we are not exposed to the outside germs. They are trying too hard to make us avoid sickness and they are acting like we didn't risk our health every day before the virus. -

Covid Procedures
To start, I understand that these procedures were made to try to keep people as safe as possible, but some of them just don't make sense to me. As of now we can go out of the house, we can not go to restaurants, but we can go to stores, and essential businesses. My problem is that we can go into grocery stores and stay around 3 feet apart, and not go to restaurants, the legal way. Then if you go three major cities away to Las Vegas, the rules are completely different, it is almost normal, just with masks. The problem is that people should be staying home as much as possible, but with the policing not being good enough, people are getting away with still going to parties, restaurants, and other people's houses. I also think that people are just trying to get into spotlights, everyone is trying to get to the top page of the news, it sucks. Anyway, today is inauguration for Biden, so we will see what will happen, thank you for reading my archive. -

Consider some of the rules or procedures that you have to follow, and tell your feelings about them
There are many new rules specifically for COVID-19, some seem to be good and others not so much. Some of the rules we have to follow at school are we have to always wear masks when around people, we have to be six feet apart from everyone, we have to constantly sanitize our hands and everything we touch, and we always have to eat outside. We are lucky because we get to be one of the only schools open, but it definitely is not fun having a mask on for almost 7 hours. Eating outside and always sanitizing isn't as bad, but the six feet apart rule is also very annoying. -

Covid Rules
One rule that we have to follow is to keep you mask on at all times. I feel like it is necessary but sometimes its gets a little annoying with the mask. Another rule would be 6 feet apart I think it does work. But I feel when you are 6 feet apart from someone you should be able to take off your mask only when you outside. Lastly We have to walk certain paths in school to get to class. I don't like this because some of my classes are far away from each other and it takes a long time to get there without covid. But with this new rule I have to go around the whole school and take the 7th grade stairs. This are some of the rules we have to follow and how I feel about them. -

Some of the many rules for Covid is that you have to wear masks at places. I personally think masks are bad/useless because you can't breath, they give me headaches, and they don't really help. Also, they should not be forcing people to wear them and should be glad when people are wearing them and not complain about it being over their nose. Another rule that some stores have is that they limit the number of people that can go into a store. Honestly, this is just kinda pointless and makes doing something take much longer than it needs to be. Some thing people also do is social distance and use hand sanitizer, which is gross and really bad for your hands. Overall, I think these rules are unnecessary and should not be forced. -

COVID😢
Covid came with a lot of goods and a lot of bad's one of the bad's being the restrictions that covid has. The worst one is probably the mask we have to wear. Don't even get mad started on the social distancing. Overall covid came with a lot of goods and bad's. -

Covid Procedures
While this pandemic was spreading, we had to take some drastic procedures so that it doesn't become more of an issue than it is. From basically March to August we had to quarantine ourselves indoors. Everyone over-prepared for it thinking that they would need 10 boxes of toilet paper. In September people stopped following the quarantine rule and started going about the day just like they used to. For the students, they had to do remote learning. They had to do calls instead of actually showing up to school. If people would go anywhere outside of their houses they would have to wear a mask, and stay at least 6ft apart from other ppl who are not your family. -

What I think about the rules and procedures I have to follow
The masks are the worst, but the other rules are o.k. I HATE wearing the masks all the time. The weirdest rule is the one that says we can't play wind instruments inside, as the only 2 instruments that would be a hazard would be the clarinets, because they are straight with no curves in the tubing. All the other instruments have areas where all the spit collects that are below the bell (opening) of the instrument. The likelihood of "dangerous" spit coming out is almost 0, especially for bassoon, and most brass instruments. There was one time where I asked the kid next to me to feel the inside of the boot one the long joint side (I play bassoon), and he was hesitant at first, but then he felt it, and THERE WAS NO SPIT! IT WAS NOT WET! The other side, however, is different story, but that is to be expected as all the spit travels through there, and gets stuck at the very bottom of the boot. Another one I think is absurd is the whole plexiglass-between-the-cashier-and-the-customer-rule, as it is supposed to prevent the transfer of Covid, but the cashier touches everything that the customer is buying. So it is practically useless. -

Covid Procedures
There are a lot of new Covid rules. One of them that I don't like is that I can't visit with friends. There have been multiple times when I wanted to have a friend over at my house but couldn't because of Covid. I don't really care about the masks except that they ruined the fashion style for the next decade or more. The grade split sucks because most of my friends are in a different grade, but it's not too bad, because one of them got special permission to eat break and lunch with me so we can talk. Social distancing is also annoying but not too big of a problem. I also was doing school online fine. Overall, the Covid procedures are a somewhat minor annoyance. -

Rules and procedures
Many rules were created as the pandemic continues. Social distance and wearing masks are some of the rules. I was not used to these rules at first because I don’t usually wear a mask. Especially in the summer, when the day is hot, covering half of your face is not comfortable. A lot of the rules are not pleased to follow, but they are helpful. -

Rules I had to follow
Rules that I have had to follow were at school where we had to wear a mask also social distance and only able to walk in a certain direction also when you are sick you have to stay home and wash your hands. My feelings about it all are good I just don't like wearing a mask all day. I also feel like it's a little hard to not give your friends a hug or anybody a high five I feel like that's really the hardest part about this. -

COVID-19 Rules and Procedures
On March 10, 2020 it was announced that California is on lock down. Now there was many rules going around but the main one wearing masks and staying at home. At the beginning everything was shut down every restaurant, beach, and business. As time when on people started to get bored. Including me I practically watched every show on Netflix. About four months went by and things started opening up. By then everyone was sick of masks and social distancing. The main thing that opened up were beaches and everyone was excited again. Then they were closed again. And then they were open. It was kind of a big cycle that just went on and on. All the rules were kind of weird and like controlling but then they became normal to me. I can't imagine a life without a mask. In conclusion, I don't necessarily like the rules but they became easy to follow. -

Covis rules
This past year we have had to follow so many new rules for Covid-19, some of these rules are wearing a mask, social distance, and not being able to go into some places. One time i got in trouble because I was playing basketball in a Gym and we had to wear a mask at all times, but I hate the mask cause I cant breath in it while Im playing so i took it off for less than a minute and one of the employees got mad at me. I don't like any of the rule cause as a kid I don't want to have to do all of these things, I just want to live my life and not lose a whole year of my life. -

covid
When covid first came out, it was a really small issue. No one immediately required social distancing measures and we were continuing life as normal. I was told that it was only in China, and the likely cause was someone eating a bat. However, as it got to the US, cases quickly escalated and everything shut down, taking sanitizer and toilet paper off the shelves and destroying small businesses. I was scared, but I knew I wasn't going to die. When school got off I thought the virus would go away in 2-4 weeks. Now the cases keep escalating, and it is January 2021. I am way more serious about social distancing now, having learned the impact of following the rules and the terror covid nurses go through. Looking back on myself in march, I feel stupid because I had no idea what was coming. I feel like this was a year of karma, learning, and self-growth and improvement. -

consider how Christmas was different for you this year because of covid-19
This year with Covid-19 going on my Christmas was a little different. Every year on Christmas day we go to my grandparent's house and all of my cousins that live in town go to my grandparent's house but my other cousins that live in Virginia cannot come down to spend Christmas with us this year because of Covid-19. We all go over and exchange gifts and eat dinner as a family. I feel if covid-19 wasn't around I fell like all holidays would be extra good just because we get to see our close family members. -

Christmas
This picture of a mask is one I wore throughout the holiday season. I wore it seeing family, going in public, and going to establishments. While I have been wearing them throughout the pandemic I wore them a lot more during the holiday season. This made my christmas different because I had to distance and wear a mask the entire time around the people I’ve known the longest for the first time ever. -

The Spooky Slide
My parents run trick-or-treating at our door. In usual years, they have a large tub of candy and the rule is you can have as much candy as you can grab with one hand. It has been pretty successful in the past, but was impossible this year. What they decided to do was go to Home Depot and construct a chute where they would send bags of candy to people from 6 feet away. Less people came, but the ones who did were impressed.
