NHS Approved PPE
This is an Instagram post by sciquipuk. This is a store that sells NHS approved PPE for people to buy. Throughout the pandemic, I have seen people use a variety of these items. I have mostly seen masks. Every once in a while, I have seen people use face shields. This is a good post that demonstrates some of the things people have regularly worn during the course of the pandemic. -

Brainwashing
This is an Instagram post by we_stand_together_uk. The post shows a comic of a man and his brain full of different narratives, with the man looking fearful. Quite a few of the narratives depicted are COVID related, such as: "masks work", "trust the science", and "get boosted now." The poster themselves in the tags says #saynotothevaccine and #wewillnotcomply, making me believe that they think that everyone that has taken the vaccine has been brainwashed in some way to accept it, when they believe it is dangerous. -

Education
When PM Johnson announced the lockdown my secondary education sadly ended without me knowing, my grades were decided by teachers then corrected by a computer - it then turned out the computer was wrong and our year was given our original grades. What a thing to put 18 year olds through, I was dissapointed to say the least that this was allowed to happen and it turned out the government knew about the computer failure and still did nothing. However, the lucky ones of us lived on, staying at home, protecting the NHS and saving lives. Now at university, which has predominantly been online, has been great. Staying online means that I am not interacting with people and not potentially spreading the virus so I hope this way of learning continues for a long time! Overall, the pandemic has meant I have been given the holiday of a lifetime, been allowed to still carry on my education but in a safe way and allowed me to reflect on how I use my education. -

UK rollout of Covid vaccine could start before Christmas
As someone who is patiently waiting for this dismal lockdown to end so I can get on with my life this is good news. Hopefully, things will clear up so I can actually go and visit my fiance. I wonder who all will take the vaccine though, or if visitors will be forced to take it. -

Lockdown Clothing Project
We are two London-based fashion scholars – Lorraine Smith (aka Lori) and Jana Melkumova-Reynolds – who have always been curious about how others dress, and how this relates to identity. Recent social changes (due to the coronavirus pandemic) have increased that curiosity. How are people dressing when in lockdown and isolation situations? How is this different to the way they dressed before? Has it affected their sense of self? This project aims to shine a light on those changes and reveal some of the many and varied personal stories relating to fashion and dress in 2020.
