Board Game Anything But Boring!
The picture I submitted shows how I have dealt with the pandemic in order to pass my time during the quarantine. I have started to play more board games with family and friends in order to pass the time and keep my mind active. All of us who play truly have started to enjoy playing the board game Risk as it allows for us to strategize, enjoy each other’s company, and to increase our mental activity. This game is fun as well because it allows us to catch up with one another over this long and fun board game. -

New Hobbies
One I heard we were going to be stuck at home for a while I thought “This gives me the chance to do something I’ve always wanted to do.” That thing is working out. I was never one to be active before, much less working out, but I pushed myself. I looked up some good workouts and I eventually got an app that helps me out with everything. Me doing that made me sleep better and even feel better. This really gave me something to do instead of being bored all day. -

Staying Active During the Pandemic
Ever since quarantine begins, I’m sure that each of us has developed a new hobby, doing something that we never thought we would enjoy doing. For me it’s running. I never enjoyed running but I decided to give it a try since I had nothing better to do. I’ve noticed a lot of people in my neighborhood who I rarely saw leaving the comfort of their homes started walking and running. I never thought I would love running/jogging this much but now I do, it’s not only a good exercise to stay in shape but it also helps with mental clarity, taking my mind off of all the crazy things that are going on in the world right now. -

Water bottle mask sign
My roommate took this photo on her daily walk, something she started doing early on in quarantine to stay active while staying safe. It asks for people to recycle their plastic water bottles so that they can be made into face shields for our health care workers. Health workers are facing a lack of PPE and individuals have started making face masks for them to use. *Anjelica Oswald, Northeastern University
