Begging for Something New
Today I tried to make the day different while going through my same routine. This meant that I tried to workout harder and spend time with my sister and mom so that we can make something that lasts longer like crafts. Today was just really solid because I was so much more focused on what I was doing that it made me get through things faster. This helped me not snack as often because I didn’t really wait and think that I am hungry. I have still been sleeping in later as I have been waking up at about 8-9. I just recently found out that I was accepted to be a Student Ambassador for my school in my eighth-grade year. I was really excited to be accepted and am happy to have the opportunity to help make my school a better place during my last year at this school. This also shows me how people are making plans for life to resume pretty soon. The Rec Center is opening, my sister’s preschool is having lessons, and people at school are making plans for when students return back to school, showing that Distance Learning is almost done for good. #LSMS #NSD -

Habits Changing!!!
I have noticed that I keep waking up later and later in the day. In the beginning of the quarantine I would wake up at about seven. Today I woke up at eight fifty-three. It is a good thing that we are not going back to school because I do not know how I would survive waking up that early. At least I have the rest of the summer to try and get my sleep schedule back in order. Other than that, my days have been very productive in my opinion. I have not been into any TV shows or movies. I think that is a good thing even though if one of my family members asks me to watch something with them, I do most of the time. This is kind of the same as before the virus. I wouldn’t watch too much TV. The virus has definitely affected my sleep schedule. Ever day I want to get out of quarantine and do something more and more. I am fed up with quarantine by now and just want everything to go back to normal. *Original text in "Creator:" Nicole Dumitrascu #LSMS #NSD -

Quarantine Struggles
Today I did my usual routine: I stretched, ate breakfast, did my school for the day, worked out, read my book, played with my sister, relaxed, and ate dinner. For my relaxation today I just watched YouTube and my favorite show to watch with my mom, Flea Market Flip. There are also a lot of free movies and shows because of quarantine. I have been trying to make my routine the same things, but different things each time. For example, I will still run every day, but changed my speeds and rest. I am also trying to find time to do those things that I have always wanted to do. For example, I am overseeing planning my little sister’s 5th birthday party. I will be able to get out of the house and go to a store, this time Walmart, for the first time in over a month. I am super excited to plan games and crafts for the whole family to do because my sister cannot invite her friends from preschool. *Original text in "Creator:" Nicole Dumitrascu #LSMS #NSD -

Life during Covid-19
April 20th, 2020 Covid-19 is spreading like wildfire. Cases are going up like no other and many hospitals are running out of room for patients. Whenever I look outside, I barely see any cars compared to how it used to be. Roads aren’t as busy and many people are staying indoors. I was riding bikes the other day and we passed by a park with caution tape surrounding the whole thing. Due to gyms being closed people are starting to go on runs and trying to keep themselves fit during this tough time. People are definitely not trying to come in contact with other people and if two people are about to cross each other on the same path one goes to the road. A lot of people have been going to hardware stores to get stuff to build so they would have something to do during the day. Many people are starting to make there own gardens so that they could see the flowers growing everyday to give them something to look forward to. Online schooling hasn’t been the best, but you have to do it. I really miss all my friends and I know that I won’t see them till next school year or maybe later. When I first heard about Covid-19 I didn’t think much of it and then it hit Idaho and know 3/4ths of the news is talking about the Coronavirus. I like to watch the videos that have been posted on social media about Covid-19 because they make me feel like we are all going to get through this but we should laugh about it instead of being scared because then you can have hope, and personally I think that is one thing we definitely need. -

Quarantine Puppy
As the country started to quarantine and my family was stuck at home from work and school, we decided it would be a perfect time to get a puppy and keep our spirits up. This puppy is one of the main reasons I don't find myself bored out of my mind during this pandemic. She is a Golden Retriever puppy, 3 months in the picture, and her name is Sadie. #CSUS #HIST15H -

What I do to Help Pass the Time
I was really bored and needed something to help me pass the time while stuck at home. I was able to purchase this paint by number kit online. I severely underestimated how much time it would take to complete this painting. The portion that is painted took me about three days of on and off work. I am still working on it, and I have all the time in the world right now. It is interesting to see how different people pass their time during the pandemic. Some people are doing major projects while others just small ones. #CSUS #HIST15H -

Nature Journal Page
A picture of a page in my nature journal. I started a nature journal when lockdown was announced in order to make sure I was going outside every day and also to share with my girlfriend when quarantine was over. Communicating online is so important, but I also wanted a means to communicate with her that felt like it could be kept forever. -

Newport Beach
My roommate and I stayed at home for half month. We felt kind of sad and depressed. We heard the Newport beach opens. We spent half hour to find a parking space, because there were lots of people. On the beach, lots of people were playing and having fun. We were surprised the number of people on the beach, because that was a Monday. On the day after we went to the beach, we heard the local government closed the Newport beach again, because there were too many people on the beach. -

Paint by Numbers
This image shows an incomplete paint by numbers that is depicting a French cafe. During a time of boredom and anxiety, artistic outlets such as this one provides comfort and distraction. I bought this paint by numbers to alleviate my boredom and to give me an excuse to step away from my family if I needed alone time. I bought this project when I knew I’d be in quarantine for more than two weeks. This complex painting allows me to not think about the scariness of the news and helps calm my anxiety about the current state of affairs. -

Yoga
I still have my job and luckily, money is still coming my way I just stay at home day after day Forced into retirement At only 26 years shy It has truly been a blessing in disguise There are so many things to be grateful for Not letting myself get bored With the television screen And the shows scene after scene I find myself lost in a different routine Finally, with too much time on my hands I can freely escape to different lands Where my mind, body and soul are in unity And the me I’ve always known takes on a new identity -

Tree Limb Arch, Cumberland Park, Cleveland Heights, OH
Within a few days after Gov. DeWine started Ohio's "shelter in place" order, a small arch made of tree limbs appeared in Cumberland Park along Cumberland Road. On a more recent walk, I found that someone had rebuilt the arch on a larger scale. It's interesting to watch for signs of how people do various things to fight boredom. -
