2020-03Some moments from March and April, 2020
At the beginning of the 2020 COVID pandemic, I was a Sophomore in college. My friends and I had heard about the strange sickness that was spreading to the western states and after a few weeks, we realized that we might get sent home from college. The night we learned that we were leaving, it absolutely POURED rain. I was working at the front desk of my dormitory watching girls scream down the sidewalk to try to get to the dry dorm. Then, a salamander crawled through the front door. I was so shocked. After that, I raced around campus with a friend and got completely drenched. I loved it. When we got back to the dorm, a group of girls were leaning out of their 3rd-floor window reading off an email from the university to a group of boys standing outside. We were being sent home. I was devastated and cried on the phone to my parents. The two videos show a group of chickens my family and I got and my studying habits and how much I missed being with friends and outside of the house. -
2022-05-23Sneeze Guard at Starbucks
While at Target, I noticed a sneeze guard at the Starbucks inside it. I can't remember if the staff were wearing masks, but that is one COVID-era precaution I saw that is still in use. My sister was ordering something from there, so I took a picture while I was waiting for her to be done. -

2020-07-30Some form of Selfish
Those that refuse to wear masks could be seen as selfish. I know there are many who can not wear them for medical reasons but most of the non-mask wearers do not fall into this category. I work in a coffee shop, we have multiple signs stating that a mask is required inside. Late one evening, right before close, a woman came in without a mask. She did not have one and refused the one I offered to her. Another employee who did not know this happened because she was in the backroom asked her about a mask. The woman leaned over the counter and was screaming about rights and the government and threw Peter Parker the spider plant at us, one of the many plants we keep along the bar. -

We are cocooning in Donegal. Our house is beside my husbands parents. They are clearing their house. It’s almost like clearing a path to death :( They are getting rid of stuff they aren’t using. Me and my husband aren’t stuff gatherers...but this was a memory he wanted to recapture. The sound and smell of coffee being made. We don’t have a coffee machine so there’s no pint in buying a new one when this one works. Also I miss going to coffee shops. -

2020-04-26Life as an essential worker during COVD-19
During this pandemic, my restaurant closed. As a workaholic I found myself gong downhill mentally and decided to search for a new job. Now I work as a barista at a coffee shop experiencing high demand during this time. #REL101 -

2020-03-04Stay at home and stay fun
I love studying at a coffee shop. Because of the pandemic, I cannot do it anymore. I am trying to make myself feel at the coffee shop, so I make an avocado toast and coffee for myself. It makes my life fun even though at a special time. I believe we can always find a way to make ourselves happy, and what we need to have is just a good mindset! I hope everyone takes advantage of this time to improve ourselves!
