Jesus will understand if you stay home during a pandemic
One of the first things my parents did when they retired and moved to Arizona was find a church. I was very vocal about wanting them to wait to return to large group gatherings but for some strange reason, they seemed to think that they couldn't get covid in church. My mom thought that after all the hardships brought on by the pandemic she needed to be back in church. A month later my dad got sick. We all naively thought it was the flu until I saw the shortness of breath. I told him to get sick and sure enough, he tested positive. Two weeks later my mom contracted Covid. I was hoping it wouldn't hit them too bad but my mom is a diabetic and they are older (late 50's and mid 60's) so I was a bit worried. As the days went by neither of them was getting better. My parents were sick through the holidays, I made Christmas dinner and we ate "together". I dropped off food at their front door then went to their back window where my kids and I ate picnic style. After three visits to the ER for my dad and four for my mom we finally started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have lost many people to Covid, but it never hit me as hard as when I thought I was going to lose my parents. Thankfully, it was a massive lesson learned for my parents that covid spreads even in the church. -

Symptoms
Personally I don't know anyone that has gotten Covid 19 and I would prefer not to start now. I have heard however that the symptoms in everyone are different depending on your blood type, if you have asthma, diabetes, or any other immune disorder. The symptoms in a healthy person is just like an extended common cold. There is coughing, fatigue, light headedness, and fever. But, once it hits people who have asthma that could be a problem considering that Covid 19 attacks the lungs. It could damage their lungs even more which could potentially lead to death. Other than that the symptoms are pretty much the same. The thing that makes this particular virus dangerous is that no one shows symptoms for at least 2 weeks. So before you know its there, there is already a couple billion little virus cells in your body making you sick or worse. This disease mainly affects the elderly and is hard to control. it spreads quickly because it is an airborne disease. Some other symptoms are nausea and diarrhea. By now it is very well known about by now mostly because an insane 3.12 million people have died around the world because of it. -

Symptoms of Covid
Someone that has covid may experience a lot of symptoms or not as many. Most symptoms are cough, fever, headache, sore throat, and muscle or body ache. If you are old or have diabetes, overweight, or heart problems than you need to take the virus more seriously. My uncle had covid about 3 months ago. He's probably around 50 years old. He was out for three days. He wasn't worried at all. He had a fever for a day and sore throat and a little cough. He got it over with. -

Getting a COVID-19 Vaccine
My name is Delanie Cencelewski, I am 20, I live in Kingman, Arizona and I work for a private fiduciary office and deal with a lot of elderly clients. Before getting my vaccine, I really was not nervous at all and did not really feel any particular way about it. When I received the vaccine, I was in Bullhead City, Arizona at a local pharmacy called DeeFLat Pharmacy with one of my coworkers. It was only two people in the pharmacy, one administering the vaccine and one working the counter. The lady asked for my I.D. and insurance card, then I sat in a chair and got the shot. I had to wait in the pharmacy for 15 minutes so they could monitor me and make sure there were no symptoms. I am not sure which vaccine I received. I felt fine getting the vaccine, it did not hurt at all and was pretty quick. Later that day, I developed pain in the area of my right arm where I got the shot and a headache and fatigue, but other than that I was fine. I got the shot on Saturday, 1/16/2021, and am still experiencing fatigue and pain in the arm. I got the vaccine partly due to work because I come into contact with many elderly people in my community and because I have diabetes, so I fall into the 1b category for the vaccinations in Arizona. -

Thankgsgiving 2020
Due to COVID-19, some of my holidays looked a little different this year. Thanksgiving this year looked extremely different for my family. Every year, my immediate and extended family go camping together and over the years it has grown to over 50 people. Due to COVID-19 and the fact that my mother and I have diabetes, my immediate family and I decided not to go this year. Instead, we chose to stay home and cook for just the 5 of us that live in my house. We still had the turkey and ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and all the other goodies we usually eat. It was kind of sad that I couldn’t see my family this year and have fun camping, but it still turned out to be just as nice with only those that I live with! -

A Diabetic's Quarantine
Quarantine was incredibly tough for all of us. I am a Type 1 diabetic so I was limited to what I could do with friends and family. School and other activities did keep me busy as I was stuck at my home. My family and I decided to create a shrine to our family dog, who passed away last year. With the help of a family friend,. we were able to create this shrine. -
