Artists Reimagine How Covid-19 Will Shape the Art World
This Wired piece by Lydia Horne starts off with a really interesting point about the viewer relationship with art as social distancing before Covid and the distance in museums and galleries for the artwork’s protection. It is more than just considerations about virtual auctions and virtual viewing - the way that the art itself translates is something that many artists are struggling with. The article also speaks to the ways that artists are redefining themselves and their work. The changing structures and changing methods reaching an audience or sharing work, some artists are using the pandemic to explore possibilities to reshape the art world. For example, non-profits and community-based models instead of the traditional gallery model. -

Theories on Bodies
With quarantine came time, and time came art. For those privileged enough, a Renaissance has arisen within the art community. This art was made by a friend of mine who is quite dear to me who made this art for a work-in-progress album while in this ever-so-long quarantine. -

My COVID Experience
My COVID experience has been mostly unremarkable. I am a fairly introverted person to begin with, so quarantine wasn't really a big deal for me. The only new thing to have come from this experience is having to wear a mask. Thus, why I added a mask to an image drawn of myself with a mask on. -

Canvas from creative places
Here's an artist who got stuck in Peru due to COVID. He couldn't go out to buy paper or canvas, so he used the cardboard from toilet paper rolls. I'm even slightly surprised his toilet paper had cardboard rolls, because a lot of times that part is left out to save costs. Anyway, the digital art he created is pretty interesting, but it's hard to find out more about the artist because he's a self-described as: "@burst_ is an anonymous cryptoartist with an emphasis on post-neoexpressionism and digital art 🖼👾 he creates dystopian-hybrid-organic abstract artworks as well in a digital as physical form..." -
