“Covid-19 really hasn't shaped my faith or my beliefs."
“Covid-19 really hasn't shaped my faith or my beliefs. You know I continue to believe in God and I have faith in God that continues. I personally don't believe God has anything to do with covid-19. God didn't create it. God didn’t spread it. God isn’t going to determine who gets it, who dies or who recovers. I believe that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. For instance, I hope that there is an afterlife beyond this world and that my soul will live on.” -

“Being a Muslim, I believe faith is an important part of my life."
“Being a Muslim, I believe faith is an important part of my life. It gives me a lot of comfort and relief. I think it is important to have faith and that this pandemic will be resolved as soon as possible.” “No, all of the mosques and religious centers are closed at the moment. Basically, I have been praying at home instead and I have not been able to attend my local mosque in weeks.” “Yes, they are. My local mosque has been asking for donations to help the homeless and poor. These people that are given food and supplies so it is necessary to get them some sort of assistance especially during these hard times.” -

“It really hasn't. I believe in God. I'm a Roman Catholic."
“It really hasn't. I believe in God. I'm a Roman Catholic. A lot of people are likening covid-19 to the book of Revelations which really it doesn't apply. What this has taught me as a person... I still believe in God as a result of this. My belief is even stronger. I don't think this is something that God has sent his wrath to kill the majority of people in the United States or that it's causing… It’s causing people a lot of anguish. I will say that because people have… as a society we have become so reliant on freedom. It really kind of has taken us a step back and if you want to look introspectively at yourself in your beliefs this is teaching everyone or it should be teaching everyone what’s important in your life.” -

“I don't think it's really affected it much.”
“I don't think it's really affected it much.” “Our religious community isn't gathering. They stopped it immediately and I think they're trying to reach out to people through online communications. That's about it.” Mostly person-to-person. They've done one huge like worldwide broadcast in the last couple months.” -

“You know it's really strengthened my belief that there is a God..."
“You know it's really strengthened my belief that there is a God not because of any large-scale event but mostly because of all the small things going on in my life.” “Well like you said before, I was sent home from my mission in Africa about six months ago or actually about six months earlier than I was supposed to and since being back all of our worship gatherings have been canceled so yeah it's definitely affected my participation in the religious community.” “Well there's been two worldwide fasts to stop the spread and I'm also pretty sure that there's been some donations made but I know those records aren't really that public.” -

“I would say I am by book Christian..."
“I would say I am by book Christian but for me I think I would consider myself having a stronger relationship with God rather than being committed to the religion of Christianity but yeah this pandemic has definitely risen the talk of God coming or the end. This stuff kind of tends to usually freak people out but I've done or at least attempted to become more prepared for his coming spiritually.” -

“Overall, I would say it hasn't affected my faith in a negative way."
“Overall, I would say it hasn't affected my faith in a negative way. I've heard from a lot of people. They have different opinions on why this situation is happening. For example, I've heard people say that it's God's judgement.I've heard people say it's kind of a wake-up call to help us recognize how we should be living differently but.. I don't think... I mean both of those are probably valid in anyone's beliefs but personally in mine I think it's just a good way to recognize how we can work together through this and grow from this and kind of put ourselves in a better perspective rather than worrying about daily things.” -

“You know... I've kind of given that a lot of thought..."
“You know... I've kind of given that a lot of thought just because so many people so many programs I've been watching people are saying like this is a punishment or that God is trying to say something and I actually don't feel like it's impacted my faith because I've already had so much happened to me in my past with the death of my children so this is just another glitch in life I guess.” -

“Well, covid-19 really hasn't affected my faith or belief other than..."
“Well, covid-19 really hasn't affected my faith or belief other than the aspect that the church is closed but I'm still able to pray every night with my family and do Christian traditions like usual and especially with Easter last week I was still able to celebrate and was able to communicate with my family via Zoom. So that’s pretty cool.” “With me being Christian, to my knowledge it's currently not gathering. It’s all going to be over like online…” -

“I would say it hasn't really impacted me directly..."
“I would say it hasn't really impacted me directly in terms of my personal beliefs but I did grow up in a faith or an organized religion if you will that definitely takes it's strengths and its inspiration from gathering and sharing in you know social activities with one another so I could imagine those who partake in those activities are probably having a difficult time at this moment.” -

"I have found it a little difficult because we can't have our regularly scheduled church services."
"I have found it a little difficult because we can't have our regularly scheduled church services. However, I have pretty much still been going to church as scheduled because I am the head worship leader of the church so we do our live church services like our online church services so I am a big part of that." -

“So far it hasn't really had any affect."
“So far it hasn't really had any affect. If anything, it's just made connection stronger with Jehovah. I find myself talking to him and praying to him more often than I usually would. So, so far it's just been positive changes in regards to me and my religious beliefs and practicing them and putting them into practice.” -

Through Chinese Social Media -- 2
I’m a study-abroad student. Due to the virus, I had to stay at my home in New York. I got the update of the virus through Chinese social media, and I think it is really interesting. I’m going to share some posts from Chinese social media about the virus. During the time staying at home, I depend on food delivery. I want to say thank you for those people who are still working during this special moment. The post describes the restaurants donate the food to support people in the front line. All people are using their ways to support the community. -

Masks for Donations- Hospice of the Valley
When the suggestions came out for being safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, I made a couple of masks for myself and they turned out to be really nice. Having a lot of leftover quilting fabrics, I decided I could make masks for my friends and co-workers. I noticed online that people were making masks and charging for them, with some costing up to $20 each. I didn't want to profit from the pandemic but I did want to 'make a difference', so I decided to suggest that each mask recipient make a voluntary donation to Hospice of the Valley. (Hospice has been caring for my 100 year old cousin and I thought this would be a nice way to give back and show my appreciation for all they have done through the years for my family.) Happily, everyone who ordered masks gave me a donation check with some being more than generous! Yesterday, I took the first batch of checks to Hospice and presented them to Lin Sue Cooney, Director of Community Engagement. They were so appreciative and I am so thankful for all those who contributed. Amidst all of the bad news about COVID-19, I feel like I created some good news for a change. I am getting pleasure out of creating some fun masks for people to wear to stay healthy, the donors will receive a Hospice receipt for a tax deduction, and Hospice will benefit from their donations. It's a win, win, win!!! Pictures from left to right: Me in 1 of my masks 2. another mask, 3. my work station, a.k.a. kitchen table, 4. me and my sewing machine, 5. Hospice of the Valley, 6. Church donations have plunged because of the coronavirus. Some churches won’t survive.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, churches are being hit hard. They are facing a decrease in donations, making it difficult for them to stay afloat. This is due to their masses being cancelled or moved online. Congregations are beginning to make difficult decisions of whether or not to close their doors or cut the work of their staff. #REL101 -
