Just monkeying around with Covid
This meme provides much needed comic relief while also pointing out the dangers to physical health and well-being due to Covid social distancing procedures. Being creative about maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen is an important response to the evolving pandemic. Has Covid changed the way you eat? If so, how? -

Going Wild
I know the vaccine isn’t a golden ticket. I know you can still contract COVID. I know we don’t really know yet if a vaccinated person can spread it (which is why my kids are still on Distance Learning). And I know there are at least 30 countries where not one person has been vaccinated. I do know all of this. However, somewhere in my subconscious I am relaxing. I have not had a boba from 85 Degrees in 13 months and though my husband did bring home a Starbucks for me recently, that was pretty much it for the past year. Today, I somehow ended up with both. During our lunch walk, my bestie asked if I wanted to walk to Starbucks. We haven’t done that in over a year and I have to be honest, it felt amazing. Even though while we walked there, we said snarky stuff like “remember how we’re in a worldwide pandemic?” it still felt sort of normal. Then, my husband decided to pick up bread on the way home from 85 Degree and brought me a grapefruit tea with lychee jelly. My tastebuds are so happy and I’m barely asking myself if the person who made the drink has COVID. So I must be relaxing. Then again, I sprayed my boba cup with Lysol before touching it and dumped my Starbucks into a mug and reheated it before I drank it, soooo maybe not. -

Drinking and Staying Healthy
The photo is a simple picture but I think it gives in insight into what many people were doing during the pandemic. It's a picture of a tequila bottle and a pack of Emergen-C. I know personally along with many of my friends we were drinking a lot during the time of being in lockdown. There was not much to do and we could only do so much staying indoors. We would watch tv, eat, sleep and do it all over again. The picture shows that while we were trying to staying healthy we were also drinking our days away. -

Being More Social In The LGBTQ+ Community
After getting my last dose of the vaccine my husband and I have been able to be more social with others in the LGBTQ+ Community and Allies who have had their vaccine. For the first time in a year we actually had a date night eating ramen and other yummy food then we were able to meet up with friends who have been vaccinated for drinks. This finally helps me to possibly see a light at the end of the tunnel. -

Socially Distanced Best Friends
After months of our parents not letting us see eachother due to COVID-19, me and my best friend decided to hang out in my front yard. She brought over boba and food from Ding Tea (our favorite), and we ate together 6 feet apart, as we watched the sun go down. When we decided to get near eachother for pictures, we were cautious and made sure to put on masks to be safe. -

James Boag's poignant press ad
I saw this ad in our local paper on the first Saturday after the toughest social distancing restrictions were announced with gatherings in public of more than two people prohibited. I felt this was a very poignant press ad placed by a well-known, sturdy, enduring, local brand. It empathised with the public as well as encouraging support for the distancing measures. -

Corona Virus Clorox Meme
The meme is a can of Clorox as if it is drinkable soda. It is playing upon the recent conference President Trump had in which he said we could 'inject Clorox to prevent the virus'. This was so significant that Clorox came out with a statement addressing this, stating their product is not meant to be consumed or put in the human body at all. The type of humor present in this meme is very satirical. It brings to light the humorous and unfortunate reality of our ignorant President. -

Residents of North Adams, a small city in Western Massachusetts have begun compiling community recipes and kitchen hacks into a digital cookbook. A Perfect Back Deck Beverage
Bars in Chicago have been closed for a month due to shelter-in-place. Service industry workers panicked: our paychecks are minimal, and business was just recovering from the winter slump. But, Chicago bartenders are family and many of them got creative. Estereo batched boozeless cocktail mixes and sold bottles of alcohol curbside. So far, we’ve raised enough money for each of our coworkers to get “tipped” $200. I know a lot of that came from fellow unemployed bartenders, and the generosity of them and strangers is truly humbling in a time of anxiety, fear, and social distancing. #DePaulHST391 -
