  Lunch Time

  With the closing of schools, many students no longer had access to a warm and healthy lunch provided by the federal government. Kids from lower income families often rely on school to provide them with at least two meals a day, but because of COVID-19 they no longer could eat certain breakfast like oatmeal and lunch such as, carne guisada, that they have been used to consuming. In order to address this problem, schools began setting up times for parents to come and collect food for their kids three times a day. Ultimately, due to lack of personal time, parents were picking up breakfast, lunch and snacks for three days on Friday.

  Covid Testing

  I was going on vacation out of country and I needed a negative covid test. I went to one of the drive up rapid testing sites provided by a local healthcare facility. Since the lines for testing had grown so much they had this testing site at a local golf course. They needed a lot of space to be able to accommodate everyone and have less of a traffic jam. I had gotten a few tests since the beginning of covid but this one definitely hurt the most. It only took thirty minutes for my results. Luckily it was negative.

  Vaccine Story

  My vaccine was really easy. I had it done in Phoenix, and I got the Pfizer dose. I have not had my second dose yet. When I had my appointment confirmed, I just drove down to the site where they were doing the vaccines, and it was a drive through type of situation. I was in and out of the line in less than 45 minutes. I didn't have any side effects other than muscle aches for about two days. Super easy! I am, though, having quite a bit of trouble scheduling my 2nd dose. I think there is a strain on the supply that Arizona has.

  Rules I have to follow

  The rules that came with Covid are very different than normal life. It is considered lucky to get into a store in less than 5 minuted because of the lines. They only allow a certain amount of people in a store and you have to wear a mask at all times. Even when we are in a drive thru we still have to wear a mask. Wearing a mask is terrible. It's always itchy and you can't breathe.

  “We are car”

  This is a photo I took when my friends and I (a total of 3 of us) came together for the first time in 5 months. We had masks on and went to Mcdonalds on skateboards. Because of covid, mcdonalds only had a curbside pickup or drive thru. We decided to do curbside pickup so we didn’t get in the way of cars. We ordered online, stood in a parking spot and pretended to be a car. Hence our saying “we are car”. This photo shows how teens now persevere through these tough times while following corona regulations.

  Priest giving blessings at Saint Juan Diego and Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Chandler, AZ on Easter Sunday and Divine Mercy Sunday.

  During Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday the priest at Saint Juan Diego and Saint Mary's went on to give blessings during these joyous days by having families or just people drive up in their cars like a drive-thru and the priest would extend their hand to give them the blessings.

  Testing Not at CVS

  When I went through the drive through at CVS, I noticed they had put a sign on the window to let people know that CVS did not have the ability to give people tests. I assume people must have been asking since they have other Minute Clinic testing options.
