We'll Live Through
I created these hand cut paper arts during the covid-19 pandemic. Both my artworks are inspirations that we, all will get through this pandemic. -My first artwork I created back in April 2020. The world and the holding hands symbolizes hope that we will pass through this pandemic as we all unite as one. -My second artwork [in photo] I created in June 2020 is another inspiration hope and courage to believe that despite this trying time, there's an end to it. That we shall not lose hope and still try look at the brighter side of things and know that there are more beauty than the ugliness this pandemic has brought in our world. -

Misa patungo sa Mesa sa Panahon ng Pandemya 2020
I took it when I attended the mass at the National Shrine of Sacred Heart in Makati and after one of my marketing and the 1st time to go back in DIVISORIA since March is the abundance of blessings even in this crisis when I took a picture of it when I arrived home. If it is my last day due to pandemic I would go to Church to celebrate for the last time the Eucharist and thank God for this amazing, beautiful and blessed life. Moreover, thanksgiving does not end inside the Church it continues in the table of my family to continue to thank God for the blessings amidst this crisis. Walking the CAMINO the Way the road made these things happened even if no public transportation. -

Have Faith
During times of fear or crisis, many people will rely on faith. During this pandemic, faith is what I rely on just like millions of others around the world. And to pass the time during social distancing, I started designing wooden crosses to send out to family members so that they receive the message to always have faith during these challenging times. -

A stronger conversion to faith
Today I curled my hair and wore earrings. A first in many weeks! Sunday worship is a huge part of our family life. We practice our faith daily and gather weekly with The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter Day Saints. Of course with quarantine, like everyone else, we can not gather. But it hasn’t stopped us from our worship. In our home, we continue to dress weekly for the Sabbath, mostly because my husband and oldest son are able to administer the sacrament for us, which we hold very sacred. After a short intimate family worship service we have an opportunity to hear uplifting words recorded and shared online from members of our local congregations. With days that mesh together, having a defining Sunday is refreshing and keeps my soul uplifted. I grew up in the LDS faith however, I had to come to decide on my own and gain my own testimony in it’s teachings. We honor the Bible and have a deep testimony in Jesus Christ as our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer. We also believe The Book of Mormon to be the word of God and goes hand in hand with our beloved Bible giving added testimony of the glories of Christ. I don’t recall one moment in my life that I can define as my conversion moment, as others may. I do remember moments where I had to question myself and my beliefs and decide who and what I wanted to follow and believe. My conversion has been a lifelong journey and process and everyday I draw closer to God is a day my testimony is strengthened. I have enjoyed this time of intimate worship with my family. As we slowly emerge from our cocoons I have heard others are rejoining their faiths of worship. It will be a little slower here in Belgium before we can return to our church family because of government safety measures. I do look forward to that day when we can meet and embrace again. But this time with my children has been one of the best faith building times in my life. (With a stubborn 6 year old and teenage attitudes one can’t help but question their why😉) And for that, I am completely grateful. The virus hasn’t been all that bad. ❤️ -

Staying Hopeful
I have learned in this quarantine that is you want to do something and not be lazy, then you must attack it head on and just go for it. The hardest part of accomplishing something is definitely starting. If you can start the thing you want, then you are more motivated to finish it because you have already spent time and effort trying to accomplish the thing you want. Even when I get out of this quarantine, I am going to try to apply this to my daily life. I really wonder when things are going to get back to normal, or if things will go back to normal. This might be the new normal which is a scary thought. I hope this is not the new normal because I had a plan for my future. Well kind of, but this is definitely not what I had planned. I am trying to remember that it is not about what I want for my future or what I think is supposed to happen in my life. It is about God’s plan and what he wants to happen in my life. -

Quarantine Birthday
Today my baby sister Elena turned five years old. She has just been a light and a breath of fresh air ever since she has entered this world. I have loved watching her grow up and learn new things. She may be trying at times, but things always seem to pan out perfectly. I love her so much. I pray that God protect her and watch over her all the days of her life. Please guide her and help her grow in her faith in you, Lord. We had so many fun surprises in Elena’s birthday celebrations. I made her breakfast, waffles with chocolate shaped in a cute animal with blueberries for its eyes and mouth and a blackberry for the nose. Then we dropped her off at preschool with cupcakes. Then, once she came home, we ate lunch. After that we took photos in our homemade photobooth. Then we played Pin-the-Moustache-on-the-Kitty. Elena won of course. Since she won, we gave Elena cake as a surprise for her win. After that we did the pinata. Lastly, we had presents. Today was a good day. #LSMS #NSD -

“I think it's probably... I guess made it stronger and sometimes it's hard to think that there is a greater purpose for all this but at the same time I think having faith has kept me grounded and it's also given me a source of community and kind of like a sense of peace during this time.” -

"Uh... I mean kinda not in a huge sense you know some things have changed of course but... I dunno reading the bible and such kinda expected these things like this to happen so its not really as much of a shock if that makes sense but its definitely we definitely do take some precautions though and definitely throw some stuff to the whirlwind." -

“I would say that it hasn't affected my faith or beliefs in any kind of drastic way. I've always grown up going to church and I still feel the same about my church and about my religious beliefs and God and I don't think that this pandemic was something sent by God to smite us or that we are being ignored by any kind of higher being or something for this happening. I think that just stuff happens and you know faith and science are two separate things.” -

“I would say it's definitely a lot harder to get in community because I feel like that's a big deal with any kind of faith and so with church it's all online now so I'm just watching it like from my home church with my family like in our house so that's kind of a bummer not being able to be in community every week and it's hard because it puts like I don't know more pressure…” -

“At this point, there's been real no effect on my faith or beliefs. My faith and beliefs are just that, my faith and beliefs. No pandemic, other natural occurrences, or otherwise will affect either.” “Well, since my arrival here in Kentucky quite a few years ago, I really haven't found a church to my liking so I don't really participate in any churches or other religious gatherings. For myself, my mind and my body are my church so no effect at all for myself but from what I do understand though that some churches have been affected as far as not being able to gather and I do understand as well from in the news that some churches are still gathering against the governor's restrictions…” -

“I think it's definitely been causing me to lean on my faith more and even kinda believe in this higher power and lean on this higher power in a stronger way but at the same time like right now all the churches are closed and being challenged to figure out how how to come together as a community virtually and things like that so it definitely has made me realize I can take many aspects of my faith for granted like the community aspect but at the same time it has kinda shown me that like the church building is not my faith.” -

“Well, covid-19 hasn't really affected my faith at all. I feel like its affected the social aspect of it but I've been able to adapt with everything that's going on.” “No. So, the church that my family goes to they’re having live streams on Sundays. So, they have like two different live streams one in English and one in Spanish and it hasn't really affected my participation since it's like really easy to get to like it's available on YouTube and they have like a live chat feature that not that many people use because I mean you're not really supposed to be talking while the service is going on.” -

“Well, covid-19 has not really affected my beliefs too much because we have the flu and we had H1N1 and other diseases and I mean there's nothing really that has changed with my beliefs. I'm a Christian so you know I believe that some things happen and God will allow some things to happen and that doesn't mean that he doesn't love us.” -

“Covid-19 really hasn't shaped my faith or my beliefs."
“Covid-19 really hasn't shaped my faith or my beliefs. You know I continue to believe in God and I have faith in God that continues. I personally don't believe God has anything to do with covid-19. God didn't create it. God didn’t spread it. God isn’t going to determine who gets it, who dies or who recovers. I believe that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. For instance, I hope that there is an afterlife beyond this world and that my soul will live on.” -

“I feel like for me it really hasn't affected it too much."
“I feel like for me it really hasn't affected it too much. I think it really just affected the way things go about because my religion is Christianity so before covid-19 we would meet on a weekly basis at a church and from there everybody gathers together so it's a really close room with a lot of people in it and since covid-19 and social distancing is in place we really can't meet so a lot of the operations in the church have gone more to a social platform they start uploading services every week on YouTube…” -

“I would say that covid-19 has made me more..."
“I would say that covid-19 has made me more... put more of my faith into God because when the world gets affected by pandemics such as this it can cause a lot of havoc on the world and if anything God is the one person you want to turn to in times like this.” “As far as like the community goes the only other two people I talk to about God is my parents and I know that my dad and stepmom have been attending services through like livestreams. Personally, I stopped going to church when I came out of high school. Should probably be going more often but it hasn't changed my religious views or any type of service that I've attended.” -

“You know it's really strengthened my belief that there is a God..."
“You know it's really strengthened my belief that there is a God not because of any large-scale event but mostly because of all the small things going on in my life.” “Well like you said before, I was sent home from my mission in Africa about six months ago or actually about six months earlier than I was supposed to and since being back all of our worship gatherings have been canceled so yeah it's definitely affected my participation in the religious community.” “Well there's been two worldwide fasts to stop the spread and I'm also pretty sure that there's been some donations made but I know those records aren't really that public.” -

“Overall, I would say it hasn't affected my faith in a negative way."
“Overall, I would say it hasn't affected my faith in a negative way. I've heard from a lot of people. They have different opinions on why this situation is happening. For example, I've heard people say that it's God's judgement.I've heard people say it's kind of a wake-up call to help us recognize how we should be living differently but.. I don't think... I mean both of those are probably valid in anyone's beliefs but personally in mine I think it's just a good way to recognize how we can work together through this and grow from this and kind of put ourselves in a better perspective rather than worrying about daily things.” -

"To make me grateful to have a spiritual basis to live my life from ..."
“To make me grateful to have a spiritual basis to live my life from which is what I call... I guess that would be related to my religious beliefs... I had a spiritual life prior to having a quote religious belief. My religious belief came about 20 years ago in the form of another vital spiritual awakening which led to the Baptist Church. That faith led me through 911 which strengthened my face and gave me confidence that God could take care of things in the world that seem to be catastrophic to me.” -

“Personally, it has not affected my faith or my belief. I've always had a very strong faith and I've always had strong faith because I'm a person who has pretty much knocked at death’s door more than once. I've been on life support so I look at covid-19 as another stumbling block and with my faith it's just something that I can crawl over like before.” -

“It really hasn't affected my faith or beliefs in any way particular."
“It really hasn't affected my faith or beliefs in any way particular. I still am able to read my Bible and pray and do all the same things I would do at church just from my home. My beliefs haven't changed everything that I feel and believe has stayed the same especially with like Easter that just happened. We were still able to celebrate that holiday as a family although we weren't like all together and at church but the point of the holiday is our beliefs so essentially we were still able to celebrate that from home.” -

“I don't think it has. I think it's just as strong as it was before.” “We've been gathering over social media platforms. We had continued to do our one stay Bible study but unfortunately the past two weeks we’ve been unable to do so hopefully in the next couple weeks they'll be back up and running again.” “Unfortunately, participation hasn't been at its best. "I would say... you know the church is a community and so that's kinda one of the main things so it definitely affects my faith in the sense that I can't be a part of my faith community in person. Um... it has affected my faith in that I I work at church you know and so I can't really effectively lead that community as well as I normally would you know as when we can meet in person."
