The Division of Covid-19
Since the pandemic started life has definitely changed in plenty of ways, not just for me but for everyone. From the way we learn in school and work jobs to the way we interact in public and meet people. One thing covid brought that I saw prevalent in a few different aspects of my life was a new reason for division amongst people. This new reason for division is almost a political thing, where there are people that are nervous and scared that covid is harmful and then the people who do not care and believe covid is blown out of proportion. I see this division in things like media, politics, family, and friends. It makes a lot of things confusing for me because I never know which side to listen to. The crazy thing to see for me is how a pandemic can come around and cause so much separation. At a point it started to seem like it was the only thing I heard people talking about and it would drive me crazy. If I put on the news, it was always someone saying everyone needs masks, then I flip the channel and the next station is saying mask are bad and should not be on all day. Then it came to my family, my dad would tell me I needed all the vaccines and booster but my mom on the other hand told me to do whatever I wanted and did not care. Seeing all of this back a fourth throughout this time would frustrate me because it made making my mind up so difficult. This eventually even got to my friends, and I saw friends that would argue about whether people should get the booster or not, and I thought it was so ridiculous. The reason I bring up this point of division is because I believe it is interesting how everyone has reacted to covid. I also feel like it has made people feel the need to push their opinions and ideas onto other people, it is something I have seen first-hand in my life. Similar to the way Hitler or Stalin pushed their ideas on everyone, but on a very different level. Maybe one day people will just let each other choose for themselves. -

Saving the World
The meme about the Covid 19 pandemic describes the differences in how people were cooperating to save the world together, comparing the WWII images from the front and the image of the man sitting on his phone in bed in 2020. Referring to the fact that in 2020 in order to help save the world people had to quarantine at homes rather than fighting in the fields. -

My Life Before the Pandemic
In January of 2020 I first heard of Corona Virus. I only jokes and memes about it on social media. All I knew was that it was a sickness being passed around in China. I really didn't take it seriously and neither did anyone else at school, but I really wish I had. In march my peers and I were informed that the virus had reached the US and even penetrated California's border. Yet still, we did not take it seriously. My teachers told us that they were being prepared to give us an online education, but that it probably would not be necessary so we were not concerned. I continued life normally. I went to school, soccer practice, I hung out with friends careless of what was going on in the world. That Friday after being informed that my teachers were being prepared to educate us online, my fellow students and I were told that school was being canceled and in the coming week we would be receiving a virtual education. The week after all we did at school was learn how we would be learning from home. I was actually a little excited because I would get to sleep in, do less work, but that excitement did not last long. Within a week I loathed online school entirely. I lost all motivation to learn and do my best. To add on to this, my family began to fight 24/7. Resentments grew among each of us. Everything was closed and we were put on lockdown, the government ordered us not to leave our home. At this time I wished for nothing more than to go back before the Pandemic. -

The Broken Family
Being at home all day isn't fun at all. It is for certain that I miss my normal life. Now that this pandemic has almost taken over the US, we have no other option than to stay home and keep ourselves preoccupied. There is one important thing that we must do. We must fix our broken families. It is common for families to have their bad moments and have people in the family not necessarily agree with everyone's actions but that must end now. For any broken family we must take this time to heal the wounds in the family and come together to accept one another's flaws and or differences. As a human I make mistakes and I do argue with my siblings and parents but that needs to change. I am not the only one who may have problems with their families at times. Sometimes we just feel as if we aren't living up to the expectations or standards of our families but as I said, we need to take this time to fix that and heel any problems. We must come together and have respect for one another and have tolerance. I have not taken the time to sit down with my family and simply restore what was before but I will as everyone should and stay positive, only hoping for the better. -
