Healthcare Heroes Work Here
I wanted to contribute a photo because I think healthcare workers are heroes while providing care and support for their patients during the pandemic. I thought it would be easy to find still find a sign just as this but honestly, I did not find many (campaign signs took over many yards and corners). I do not believe this is a reflection of the community because I still think that the community views all healthcare workers as heroes for working on the front line of this virus knowing the dangers they put on themselves and their families. From conversations I have had with healthcare workers they are making sure their patients are receiving the best care and making sure they do not feel alone since they cannot have family by their side. I know the sacrifice they make but they make it so that we can get through this together. -

Notes for Nurses
This is a photo from inside the COVID unit at St. Joseph's Hospital. Children all over the Phoenix area have been sending drawings and letters to the frontline workers, thanking and encouraging them to keep saving lives. The nurses on the unit have put them all over the windows and walls for everyone to see. -

Graduation during Covid-19
My sister has been working so hard for the past two years; late nights and difficult early morning labs. She earned the title nurse practitioner. The pandemic hit a few months before her graduation and she would work the front lines while taking the last push towards graduation. As expected her graduation was cancelled and she was mailed her practitioner license. My family and I thought that her hard work deserved a proper celebration so we planned a way for our family to get together but follow all the proper precautions. We saw those drive by celebrations and planned one of our own. My grandmother demanded to be apart of the crowd at home to be closer to her granddaughter and no could tell her any different. This is one of the pictures from the celebration. -

Overcrowded Hospitals
As a nurse at St. Josephs Hospital, my sister is at the heart of this pandemic. She is watching as her workplace is overrun with patients infected with the virus. Taking every precaution possible, she is doing everything she can to help her patients and the other nurses on her unit. Since the influx of positive cases is overwhelming the hospital, nurses from other units are transferred and trained on the COVID unit. Neonatal unit nurses, Neuro-ICU nurses, and anyone else that can help is fighting on the front lines of this pandemic. This is a screenshot from her Instagram, pleading with anyone who will see it, the consequences of not taking this virus seriously. -

Front Lines: Reactions to the Pandemic Seen From a Health Care Professional's Perspective
Working through this pandemic has been difficult to say the least. This video was taken during a spike of cases here in TN and was what I call a light in the darkness. It has been truly interesting to hear the different opinions and perspectives from my patients. Religion has been a major theme. Some patients see the good, and some see all the bad. I have heard theories on why this may be happening from "Punishments from God", " The end is coming", "We have been given this time to get closer to our family", etc. Regardless of the meaning behind it all, it is nice to know those working through the pandemic have a stong support group. -

COVID-19 Pandemic in Wuhan, China
I collect images, memes, articles and screenshot to show how people live under the COVID-19 pandemic in China. Poeple are forced to wear mask when outside, including children. The pandemics cause many troubles for people, but the most impressive thing is that doctors work on the front line when the first case was reported. Thousands of volunteers went to Wuhan and help people prevent the pandemic. -

Doctor asking us to stay home
This image, and others like it, began circulating my social media feeds around mid March in reaction to people not wanting to stay home. The doctors were putting their lives on the line to save those that became ill and the least we could do was stay home. The theory being that if we all stayed home then there would be less people infected and the rush of covid patients would be slowed. I personally took the stay at home order/ask very seriously. *This image appeared in my Facebook feed. It shows a doctor holding a sign asking everyone to stay home.
