Getting Our Time Back
The Covid-19 Pandemic was a hard time for everyone. People were sick, out of work, losing loved ones, and going through several other mental and physical health problems. However, we also had a lot of time on our hands during the pandemic, and my family took the as the perfect opportunity to bond. During the pandemic, we spent a lot of time together, we would paint, talk, watch movies, play games, basically anything we could do get together. This gave me the chance to grow closer with my family during a hard time and I really cherish the time we spend together. . -

Getting our Time Back
During our everyday lives, we tend to lose so much of our time that we'd like to spend doing things we enjoy such as spending time with family or even just doing hobbies. For example, when you have to work all week you usually spend at least half your weekend catching up on personal chores. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, my family and I were able to get back some of the time we had been spending at school and work, we were able to spend time together instead. We were able to have movie nights, game nights, and meals at the table, and we just enjoyed being together overall. This is so important to me because I value every second I spend with my loved ones, and I was glad we really got a chance to bond during a very stressful time for everyone. -

CLUE
This board game defines the boring nights quarantined throughout the beginning phases of the Pandemic. With little activities to engage in, my family and I would play almost all the board games in my house to keep ourselves busy so we were unable to think about the craziness going on outside. In retrospect these family game nights brought my family closer, being that we were not usually, under normal circumstances, hanging out 24/7 together. -

Passing the Time
Staying inside all day has given me the want to greatly improve my entertainment center. This includes getting a nicer TV that was on sale and dusting off old video game consoles from long ago. -

Distant Relationships
Throughout the whole COVID ordeal I have been seperated physically from my friends and family. To compensate the lack of physical interactions with other during this pandemic, we've used Discord an online voice group chat to keep ourselves social. Discord has helped us remember that we aren't alone during this pandemic. We're able to play games, watch videos, and talk to one another one this service. Discord I feel what I feel helped me currently get through this whole ordeal. -

My Christmas of 2020
During the December of 2020, my Christmas was different for me this year because I was socially distanced and I was careful when I was with family. First, when my family arrived at my cousin's house, my cousin and I decided to walk his dog and I went with him. We wore masks during our walk and we stopped by some houses to deliver presents. We had to be outside, socially distanced, and we had to wear masks to deliver the presents. After, we went back and ate lunch, We had sushi and some grilled chicken and it was great! We hung out and my cousins and I played video games together. Also, my dog played with their dog and it was great. I sang some Christmas carols but we had to be outside and socially distanced. We opened presents inside but we were very careful. I got socks, clothes, Airpods, Apple Pencil , etc. We did not give hugs or any other physical contact which helped us stay safe. Overall, this Christmas was very different than the others, because of how we had to stay outside, be socially distanced, and wear masks. I enjoyed this Christmas a lot, and I am thankful I could spend it with my family. -

Christmas 2020
My family did what we always do for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we all went to church. Our church, Calvary, in Westlake Village, California, had 2 in person service so we went to the one at 3. We had to wear masks and social distance, but you had to do that everywhere. Being inside a church was a weird feeling because we haven't been in the church for about 10 months due to Covid-19. Then my grandma, mom, aunt, uncle and sisters, went to my aunt and uncles house for dinner. We were suppose to get beef Wellington but the butcher messed up and gave us steak, which defiantly worked for me. We played games like scene it and 80's music trivia. Then my sisters, mom, grandma and I left because to was 10 pm. My grandma slept over on Christmas Eve like she used to when we were littler. We woke up the next day and my sisters and I opened gifts from "santa" and my mom. We then went over to my aunts and uncles for a brunch and opened gifts from each other. It felt pretty normal all together but when we go out into public it is not by far. -

Family Board Game Night
While in quarantine during this pandemic, my family and I were forced to spend much time together. We often wondered what we could do to make the time pass while most of us were out of work because of Covid-19. My family members and I, as well as my neighbors who we were quarantining with, decided that it would be a fun idea to start playing board games. These games consisted of Monopoly, What Do You Meme, and Cards Against Humanity. Playing these games brought my family closer together while fighting through a tough time in life. -

I like to go to the gym daily also i play Xbox with my friends almost every day. I play games such as Fight Night Champion, GTA 5, Warzone, UFC 4, Watch Dogs Legion and 2K. -

Thanksgiving in COVID
My thanksgiving was similar to a normal thanksgiving. The only big difference was not having other family members there. We got all our food like turkey, potatoes, etc. We cooked up a feast and played games. It was just my family and I, but we still had a good time! -

Screen Time During the Pandemic
In quarantine I haven’t had much to do, so the majority of the time I spend on my phone, watching videos, playing games, watching shows on Netflix, or just texting/calling my friends to keep in touch. I think this says a lot about how the pandemic has affected my personal life and my activities. Whereas I used to go out to eat with friends and family or just meet up at someone’s house, or the park to hang out. I cannot do these things anymore so instead I pass the time on my phone. -

Funny Videos Made During Quarantine
This is just a few of the many thousands of humorous videos people made during quarantine. They show animals playing Tic Tak Toe, a woman exploding Coke into her face, a bulldog hating garbage cans, a small dog taking flight with helium balloons. It's encouraging that people have retained their sense of humor during a most difficult time. -

High School Students Resort to Minecraft to Complete School Project During COVID-19
Every quarter, our Vietnamese teacher assigns us a project where we must film a video based on a topic we learned during that specific quarter. Normally, we would meet up in person to film the video, but when the pandemic became more severe and stay-at-home orders were put in place, we had to be more creative with how we filmed. Unable to meet up in person, we resorted to Minecraft in order to film our 3rd Quarter video, which was based on a Vietnamese novel we read in class. #GGHSAPUSH #distancelearning -

Diane's Coronavirus Diary
I began this journal March 9, 2020, two days before New Mexico's first confirmed COVID-19 cases. March 9 was my husband and my 19th wedding anniversary and the day we last shopped for groceries. This originated as a Pages document on my iPad. I am writing to document this experience, not knowing how things will turn out for us and our family. I am writing as a way to explore my own responses to the pandemic. I have shared responses from my daughter to my journal in a couple of places in the journal. 3/09/2020 through 5/10/2020 and ongoing. My husband and I are retired and recently moved to a new neighborhood. We have absolutely LOVED our time here. We are located just a block from the University of New Mexico and just four short blocks from the Nob Hill district. We are within walking distance of many restaurants and are just minutes from several bus lines. We would often hop on the bus to downtown or uptown. We haven't ridden the busses since early March, we haven't been to a restaurant either. Our granddaughter is living with us full time, now, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her mother, my daughter, is a respiratory therapist at a hospital. [curator's note]: from the "Tell us More" page on Omeka net. -

My Brother Playing Beat Saber on the Oculus VR Headset
Since COVID-19 is forcing people to stay indoors and isolate from others, I have had the opportunity to spend more time with my family. Every night, we try to eat dinner together and do something as a group, whether we watch a movie or play a game. The other evening my brother, Joshua, elected that we play a game on his Oculus VR headset. We played a game called Beat Saber. In the game different colored blocks come flying towards you and you have to hit them, following the beat of the song playing in the background. This proved to be a fun way for us to get together and hang out. I will say that if you ever elect to play this game be prepared for sore arms the next day. It is definitely a workout. Even though COVID-19 has disrupted everyone’s plans, don’t let it stop you from hanging out with loved ones (at home). I was really frustrated when I had to leave college and come back home, but I’ve actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Even though I miss being in class and seeing my friends, it is nice to finally have some time that I can spend with my family. -

Back to old times
Since we've been in quarantine, my family and I have been spending a lot of time together. Every day feels like the days are getting longer and we run out of things to do. A couple things that we have been doing are playing old games that we haven't in years. We pulled out the old Wii and have been playing games like Mario cart and Wii sports. When that gets boring we play card games and teach each other ones we don't know. Games have been a big part of quarantine life so far. It's given me more time to spend with my family because with our busy schedules, that gets cut down sometimes. -

Unstable Unicorns
We've always played board games. But, now, the pandemic has transformed every night into game night. After all, who can watch television or surf the Internet 24/7? The term stir crazy comes to mind. Unstable Unicorns is a game for an unstable time.
