Covid Chaos
This picture represents motivation to not do anything because of Covid. When covid first started out, I was in 8th grade. I didn’t have any motivation to complete any of my schoolwork because of covid, and that led to me getting all Fs. After my parents checked my online gradebook, I felt ashamed of dropping down so low. -

The Pandemic
One of the main ways the Covid-19 pandemic affected me was the sudden change of in person learning to online learning . In early March of 2020, in my second semester of Freshman year students were told that the universty would be switching from in person teaching to online teaching. This change was very sudden, and it affected the whole dynamic students had with how they attended school, and how their work would be done. The pandemic caused many students and professors to completely change their school life around. This caused some students to struggle with their grades, and attendance was also affected. -

13,000 School Districts, 13,000 Approaches to Teaching During Covid
As a teacher, I miss our old normal. I miss my students. I miss the connections. The numbers where I live are pretty high and we have not been inside a classroom since March of last year. The kids are not doing well. No amount of scaffolding would be enough right now. My English Language learners are struggling and most have just stopped coming. Parents are frustrated (understandably), and it is evident in their desperate e-mails to me. I am failing them all but I keep pushing and adapting for them. I am so homesick for these kids. Seeing how other schools are dealing with Covid-19 definitely makes me sad. Apart of me wants to go back so badly that I would risk getting sick. The other part of me knows that I have children of my own and asthma. I need to be here for my own family. -

Remote Learning
Remote learning was a blessing and a curse, when I first started doing online it was so easy and i could talk to my friends, eat during class, and overall have a better time. This was the best part about online, but the worst was that I never received proper instructions for things, so my grades weren't too good. -

My life in Covid
With covid my daily life has changed and my grades have gone down. I guess covid just has made me feel like I have no motivation to finish and do anything. I try to motivate myself but staying home and just laying on my bed don't help. The only thing covid has done for me is become closer to my friends since we facetime almost all the time I have actually hung out with a few friends and that was really fun. I guess with covid I have gotten more confident in myself and don't feel so insecure. I also had my quinceanera but it was in mexico. But covid has its ups a down I miss school my friend and in school gives me motivation I just wish this covid thing was over and things go back to normal -

Grades Truly Do Not Matter
As we wrapped up our school year I went to finalize the grades for the fourth quarter and found my grade book was entirely empty. It was a glitch in the system but many teachers joked that this was just a sign that grades truly did not matter for students during the 4th quarter. Which is a feeling felt by many teachers and students across the country. -
