The life of a HCW testing positive for coronavirus
I wrote this article for my internship and I've always wanted to see it published given that it gives us a perspective of a health care worker that became a patient for coronavirus. In the months that the Philippines has been on lockdown and cases continue to rise up, it's very telling that those who are vulnerable to the virus still aren't secured and compensated for the work they have done so far. -

Arras, Rehas, Oxygen Mask
This describes another take on being a bride during a pandemic: a bride worried if she will walk down the aisle, or into a jail cell, or be wheeled into a hospital bed -

Healthcare "Warriors"
On top of billboards, signs, and store discounts, this photo of a mail-order catalog shows one more way how US businesses recognized public healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and integrated that recognition into their business models. The catalog marketed this particular item as a way of showing patriotic support for those dealing with the COVID crisis. Also, by declaring medical professionals to be "warriors," this advertisement fit into a fairly common view held by many, including those in federal, state, and local government, that the US response to COVID-19 was analogous to a military campaign. -

Frontline Heroes
When the community quarantine kicked in, our outdoor media partner, HDI Admix, had a problem. They had all these massive LEDs as part of their inventory, but there's no one to see them with everyone staying home. What we did was reinvent a mass media touchpoint and turn it into a highly targeted one. We used the massive LEDs as a platform to share a message of strength to the only ones who'll be able to see the LEDs, the frontliners. We reimagined them as modern day superheroes fighting the battle against this pandemic. And these short videos aired in over 20 LED sites in Metro Manila for the remainder of ECQ, aside from being shared on social media. -

Celebrities Say Thank You to Healthcare Workers
I thought this was important to preserve in the archive because it shows how much everyone appreciated the healthcare workers during the COVID-19 period. While many of us could stay safe at home in quarantine, there were so many others who endangered themselves daily. Despite the constant threat of exposure, they went to work every day to take care of the sick. -

Massachusetts Executive Order Regarding the Registration of Health Care Professionals
With an urgent need for health care professionals to be on hand to combat the coronavirus, Governor Charlie Baker signed this executive order extending/validating the license registration of all essential medical professionals whose license was about to expire for a period of no less than 90 days after the termination of the state's health emergency. This reflects the impending stress that the virus would place upon Massachusetts's health system, thus necessitating the need for all medical personnel to be available. -

COVID-19 Pandemic in Wuhan, China
I collect images, memes, articles and screenshot to show how people live under the COVID-19 pandemic in China. Poeple are forced to wear mask when outside, including children. The pandemics cause many troubles for people, but the most impressive thing is that doctors work on the front line when the first case was reported. Thousands of volunteers went to Wuhan and help people prevent the pandemic. -

Thank You
I first saw this picture on Instagram. I remember that day, many OC residents drove by the medical center with posters and gifts, and may medical workers waved to the outsides. Then I looked it up in the LA Times. Their smiles are so contagious for me that I have to share it with others. -

Thank you, Key Food window signs
As I walked past the Key Food grocery store in downtown Jersey City, I saw hand-made signs in the windows of an apartment across the street. Normally these would be expressions of gratitude to health care workers, but these were directed at the grocery store. It expressed how hard it has been to get food at times during the lockdown, and how much we have learned to appreciate the people who work in grocery stores. -
