For Marc, Another Needless Covid Fatality

Covid Statistics
There has been 25.3 million recorded cases in total in the US. There has probably been more just they didn't get tested and were feeling fine. 421 thousand of those people have died. These numbers are huge and these are just from the US. When we look at the entire world there has been 99.9 million cases. Only 55.2 million recovered fully. There has also been 2.15 million deaths. That means that currently there are 42.65 million people worldwide with covid, a quarter of which are close to death, and some are probably already dead. In California alone there have been 3.21 million cases reported and 37,999 dead. So many people are dying and getting this disease and we don't have enough room in hospitals to help everyone who needs it. Some hospitals have created space for patients outside in their parking lot and thats still not enough. I personally find it crazy how people can look at these statistics and say that covid is a hoax and not wear a mask. Not only is wearing a mask protecting others but it is also protecting yourself. Most hospitals have had to turn into covid centers just to take care of people who have covid. Most of the patients end up dying. At this point everyone knows at least one person who has gotten covid and probably a few people who have died. If this isn't a sign of how bad covid is getting then I don't know what is. It is hard to look out at the world and see what a mess it has become. In the end I don't know if we will ever recover fully but as long as we try to stop covid as soon as possible we still have a chance of returning to the way it was. -

Statistics and Final Thoughts
I think it's absolutely boggers that there have been 1.07 cases of covid-19 in la county alone. That's about 10% of Los Angeles county that have had covid-19 at some point in the past year. Not only that but La county makes up about 1% percent of the world's covid cases. I have been effected by the statistics because now every time I go somewhere, I am thinking "someone in the grocery store most defiantly has covid", and that really stresses me out. The pandemic is not over and a lot of older people and just people and general think that now we have the vaccine we won't have to wear masks everything will get back to normal, but that's just not true. Also at the beginning of the lockdown, if some people just stayed home and wore their masks this could be a lot better now. If people could also stop saying that covid is a hoax made up by the democrats I would appreciate that. -

Covid Rules
We have been told to wear masks (which have been proven to work) for almost a year now, yet some people still believe the virus is a hoax and masks are taking away their rights. This is only making things worse. I'm not allowed to see any of my friends or family for all of our health and safety, yet I see kids from my school post pictures of them with big groups of friends and no masks! It saddens me that nobody is truly taking Covid guidelines seriously. -

Just a regular day
My experience with the pandemic isn't one that drastically changed my life. I work at a gas station and I live in a rural town with the majority of the people being Republican. Which I know you must be thinking what does this have to do with it, well it actually has a lot to do! Majority of the people believe that this is all a hoax and do not believe in wearing a mask. Our customers who come into the store act as if Covid-19 isn't happening. I very rarely have someone who takes Covid-19 seriously, one customer that made me realize that times have change when he literally pulled out a disinfectant spray and then proceeded to spray the pinned before entering his pin. I have to admit even I thought he is exaggerating a bit by spraying the pin pad even when he is clearly wearing gloves. At my job my bosses did not really take Covid-19 seriously since they did not ask us if we wanted to wear mask, gloves, or even put the 6 feet markers on the floor so people would not crowd on top of each other. In fact most people out here in my rural community make comments saying "Are you really wearing mask", "You do know that is not going to protect you from anything" and my favorite one of all is "this is all a hoax, it will all calm down when the elections are over". All in all my town and I were not heavily affected or restricted with Covid-19. Although some places may have the mandatory mask requirements most people either avoided those places or just complained about how unnecessary it is to wear a mask. work, behind the scene *Photography and I found it at my job. -

Coronovirus Conspiracies
There are many conspiracy theories circulating about COVID-19. Some of them are downright ridiculous, some are scary if you start to think about them seriously. This article tries to make sense out of why these explanations are being propagated. There are mainly two branches: One that doubts the virus's severity and the other main one that it was released as a biological weapon. -

American Values
The photo represents the experience of privileged white people during this pandemic and their selfishness. Personally this upsets me because these people have worms for brains and are protesting something that cannot be resisted; disease isn’t something you can literally protest an end for, you have to wait and hope like the rest of it. -
