How I believe that Covid was created.
I think that people created Covid in a lab. With all of the modern day technology, I think that it would be not hard task to create a virus. Weather or not they meant for the virus to rapidly spread throughout the world, I don't know. I think hat Covid was originally meant to only affect one area but it spread really far and became a world wide pandemic. This is how I believe Covid was created. -

COVID-19 one year ago and now
When Covid was new, no one really knew much about it. When it came out they were a lot of rumors talking about how dangerous the virus was. Also talking about how the virus was created. The biggest rumor was that a man in china decided that he would eat a bat and because of that he got covid from eating the bat, then he spread it to a lot of people, this is how it was said covid was spread all around the world. When is started I didn't really think about it that much, I felt like people were over exaggerating it (and I still do). I honestly wasn't sure if the virus was even real and it may have been a hoax. Now that we have had covid for about a year these are my thoughts about it. I am honestly not sure how the virus was created, people say it was still from china, other people say it was created in a lab by the government so it's hard to say what is truth and what is false. I understand that for people that have underlying conditions this virus can be deadly but I honestly think and flu or cold can be deadly in various levels. I do think it is good to wear a mask and to say social distance for peoples protections but I do feel like shutting down economy was something that wasn't needed as it has closed down many restaurants and stores, etc. Those are my thoughts about covid one year ago and my thoughts about covid now. -

COVID Origin
Covid had just started, and I was hearing news of a virus outbreak and places shutting down. In 2019 in Wuhan China there were rumors about someone eating a bat going around. The theory was that a man had eaten a bat and got sick and then spread it to other people. Another theory was about a laboratory in China. Many people including myself thought that inside a laboratory nearby there was some kind of explosion and the chemicals had made people sick. My beliefs haven't changed since then because I haven't heard a lot of new theories about how it had started. Overall, both of these theories do not seem too realistic and I was shocked when I found out about the possible reasons. -

COVID orgin
When I first heard of COVID I was told that it was because someone in China ate a bat and got a virus from it that quickly spread from human to human. I also heard later that it had something to do with a chemical explosion. I believe it was more likely to be because of some sort of chemical reaction. I found out about COVID from my sisters in early January and thought that nothing was going to happen until we started going into quarantine and people started to refusing to wear masks and social distance it made me realize that it was more serious that I thought. -

The beginning of Covid-19
When the virus first started, rumors and theories raced around the globe about this new illness affecting certain areas of China. New ideas stormed everywhere regarding the cause of the virus. Many believed that it started in a market serving animals like bats. Others believe it escaped from a laboratory. Overtime not much has changed since the beginning of the virus and I am still unsure on what I think the true cause of the virus is, I think it is entirely possible that it could have come from a laboratory studying something close. -

Beginning of the Virus
When I first learned there was a virus going around I heard that someone in either the government or a high place started it for population control. At the time(and maybe still right now) there was higher population of seniors than children. Covid was originally affecting seniors so I believe this argument. -

Where I believe Covid-19 Came From.
Many different people have talked about what they think caused the pandemic Covid-19. Personally, trying to take into account both sides, I would think the virus was manufactured in a lab in Wuhan China. I believe that this virus was a result of an attempt at biological warfare. Though this is a common belief, there is no real way to prove any guess or theory. -

The Origin
When the stories of this mysterious virus that was killing tons of people in China started popping up on the news, people thought that it had started from bats in a market. Now we know that this was a lie and that it really started in lab. I was kind of astonished that this huge disease started from a few small mammals that were carrying a virus. I was originally kind of confused that somehow a few people eating bats had started a world-wide pandemic. -

What I think caused covid
The China virus in my onion started in China. I haven't done much research or herd many conclusions about what started covid though. I believe it escaped from a lab while doing research and experimenting. That is my thoughts and option on the virus and I also think there could have been someone created covid already knowing how to vaccinate himself and cure the virus. -

COVID Origin
In March at the beginning of the COVID-19 virus I was told the the virus originated from people in China eating bats. At the moment I believe that is the biggest theory but I have also heard people say the the virus was manufactured by the Chinese government and other things. There are many theories and the bats, and the government theories both seem plausible. However I am still very unsure where the virus originated from but all I know is that I hope things return to normal soon. -

What started COVID
COVID 19, the pandemic that has completely changed the way I live. There are many theories of how COVID started but only one can be true. I believe that COVID was made in a Chinese lab. Whether it was intentional or not I'm not sure. But I do believe that's how it was created. -

Who or what caused Covid 19
I used to think Covid 19 was just another illness like the flu but just until recently I believe that it was made in a Lab. The reason I believe Covid 19 was started in a lab was because that soon after China had got the viruses they knew everything about it. They went straight into lock down and their cases went down fast. I also think it was made in a lab because of how fast we found a cure. We still haven't found a cure for cancer after about like 5000 years but we were able to get a cure for Covid after about a year which seems a little suspicious to me. That what I think cause or made Covid 19. -

Cause of Covid
I think that Covid-19 started in a lab in China. I think that they were trying to make a warefare weapon and during the process, it got on someones clothes or something and was accidentally leaked. Since the virsus is very contagious it didn't take long for lots of people all aroundd the world to get it. However, I don't think that covid is a big deal for most people. Mainly, why it is such a big deal is becuase the people in charge just want power over people and want to control their lives. -

What do I think is the cause of the Corona Virus?
Pretty much in this time we know that Covid was started in China. At this time Global tensions are pretty high with the Trump and Biden Administration and voting in America. With the tensions so high you could argue with the Chinese making a deadly virus and sending it to us, I don' believe that as if they did it would most likely be more deadly. I think that they had a problem with some agricultural farming and made a virus that infected a lot of people, them trying to hide it only escalated it into building up into infecting the entire world. Just the amount of things going between china and the world just escalated the cases. These are all just theories, the CDC hasn't created a cause for Covid yet, but I think it will happen sooner than later. Those are my thoughts today about how it was created, but tomorrow might bring new information, we will see. -

Covid's Origination
I used to think Covid was from the dirty meat markets in Wuhan. But now, I am convinced it was purposefully created in a Chinese lab. I think they created the virus and it accidentally leaked to the world. -

Cause of Corona
The first thing that I heard this virus to be caused by is from a lab in China. Some other assumptions I heard about were, bats, the black market, not going to church, etc. I actually thought that this would be a month at most and everyone was over-reacting but that was definitely not the case. I think that the virus started at its origin in China, but was spread person by person, country by country until it has become a world wide pandemic. This virus didn't scare me like it should have when it first came around but corona still doesn't scare me. I am not afraid or paranoid, more like cautious. I do be that it came from a lab in China and spread person to person, country to country to become world wide. -

Covid Beginnings
When this pandemic first started there were many different theories of how COVID-19 started. The one I knew about was this virus came from a bat in China. Someone ate it and got contaminated. To me, it sounded ridiculous because it didn't make sense to me that a bat started this whole entire pandemic. Since then, my opinion has changed. I believe that in China scientists were looking at the Covid 19 in a lab. I think it escaped and that's how it got out to the whole world. -

My View
When the spring semester of 2020 ended early on account to the ever-spreading virus known as Covid-19, I thought everything would be back to normal in a couple months’ time of quarantine. I assume most people during this time had this optimistic outlook on what the future held; however, we were wrong. I am now writing this at my desk in my dorm room where I now spend the majority of my time. All of my classes are online with the exception of an in-person lab that I have every two weeks. The only time my roommates or I leave this solitary space is usually to get groceries. I decided to use this picture because this has been my view of the outside world for almost two and a half months, while I wait impatiently for the year to be over and this quarantine to be relieved. -

Schooling During the Pandemic
With the pandemic going on school has been quite different and this is more of a general outlook of how that is effecting me personally, because I can't speak for everyone else. When COVID really first started hitting us in March, I packed up all my things almost out of no where because my school (FGCU) suggested that we all go home for the semester and changed all of our classes to online meetings. When it first happened I suppose that it wasn't a huge hit to my education because the semester was already pretty much over and we only had a month or so left. However, when summer came and I had to do two more challenging classes over six weeks I started to realize how much I actually appreciated going to classes in person. Especially with Physics, which was very difficult to learn and comprehend in six weeks all while being taught online. Even more challenging was the virtual labs which in of itself is ironic. Nonetheless I was able to pass physics (barely), and now fast forward to present time we're in the Fall semester and not too much as changed. I understand what we are doing, but it is honestly quite annoying when you're trying to pass all of your classes, especially being an engineering major like me. For example, just now as I'm writing this I'm supposed to be in a class, but for some reason I can't connect to the zoom meeting and neither can anyone else. Thankfully my professor records all of our meetings so I can watch it later but regardless it is pain because finals are this week and I'm more worried about my calculus and engineering classes. I really find it more challenging to pay attention to a class when it's online compared to when I'm actually there in person, maybe that's just me but I couldn't imagine I am the only one who agrees with that. -

Alexandra Phan Oral History, 2020/07/26
Alexandra "Alex" Phan shares her experience of the pandemic. Alex is a Master's student at the University of Ottawa studying Virology and working in a lab which focuses on emerging viruses- most recently SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19). She describes her activities during the pandemic and the sense that she and other researchers are somewhat removed from the collective trauma the rest of the world is experiencing, as their routines have not changed drastically. She also discusses the changes in student life and what it is like moving out of your parents house/living on your own for the first time in the midst of a tiered lock-down. -

Behind Closed Doors
Beyond the ERs, ORs, and ICUs, there is another region of the hospital that is directly impacted by the pandemic- the lab. As a medical technologist working in clinical microbiology, I, along with my colleagues, have been processing hundreds of patient specimens and conducting various SARS-CoV-2 PCR tests 24/7 to aid in the diagnosis of COVID-19. At one point, during the beginning of the NYC outbreak, we were processing samples from all five boroughs, Westchester, and the lower Hudson Valley. We were the first human beings to view those results as they came out of the machine and saw the patterns unfold before everyone else. It is an eerie feeling to be working in a quiet lab when you feel this immense gravity of the vast storm looming overhead- knowing that every sample you process has a story and a life behind it and that your results are the thunder that reverberates beyond your four walls and out into the world itself- echoes that strike like lightning, illuminating the thin line between life and death. -

Nearly three-in-ten Americans believe COVID-19 was made in a lab
Conspiracy theories in the time of COVID-19. Another that’s been popular as of late in the UK is that 5G data networks are the cause of the virus. This article highlights how Americans have believed the conspiracy theory that coronavirus was artificially created in a science lab.
