West Point's COVID Class of 2020
Despite New York's distinction as the nation's first major COVID-19 epicenter, and the US Military Academy's decision to depopulate their campus during the pandemic, the President of the United States insisted upon an in-person graduation ceremony, even though countless high schools and universities had shifted to virtual commencements to safeguard against a viral outbreak. Nevertheless, the soon-to-be-commissioned 2nd lieutenants maintained social distancing throughout the official ceremony, as is seen here during the president's commencement address. Throughout the pandemic, public health officials have warned against large gatherings due to their proclivity for easy and rapid coronavirus transmission, but that did not stop this president from ordering this commencement or planning mass political rallies. -

Fort Bragg Shut down
This is from when Fort Bragg first put out that they were switching to mission essential personnel for a few days.Little did we know that this would continue for the next few months. They would say in two week we will re-evaluate and then the time would pass and it would get moved back.My family was supposed to P.C.S. at this time and we were getting ready to sell our home and move where ever the army told us to go.However due to the Pandemic my husband's orders were cancelled. We did not know if they would be changed to a later date or if cancelled completely. This happened to many military families who were stuck in limbo for months as we saw daily updates further restricting our movements for an indefinite amount of time.Luckily we still had a steady paycheck from the military so did not suffer financially like many others did. -

Military Meme
I thought it would be important to post a Military meme as they are usually what is considered the 'front line'. It is a niche community but still very broad. I think this meme emphasizes the freedom we take for granted but are beginning to realize as quarantine is deepened. This is something the Military is more accustomed to. -

Through Chinese Social Media -- 5
I’m a study-abroad student. Due to the virus, I had to stay at my home in New York. I got the update of the virus through Chinese social media, and I think it is really interesting. I’m going to share some posts from Chinese social media about the virus. The post is about that one of the temporary hospitals is going to close, which means the hope is coming. Through the post, I feel the persistence of those front line fighters. There are plenty of touching stories in the post. One of them brings his daughter's doll to the front line. They are also others' wives, husbands, mothers, children. These medical staff came to the frontline at the risk of infection, and their families were also worried, proud, and worried about them from afar. -

Deployed in Afghanistan during COVID-19 #REL101
I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and have no idea when I will return home to the states due to COVID-19 travel bans. I have been here for about 7 months now and was supposed to leave soon but we have been informed it is a strong possibility we will be extended. Through these tough times it is even harder for troops that have been away from their families for so long only to be told they cuts wait longer. We have limited access to amenities such as gyms and MWR(game rooms) due to social distancing. I hope that resolutions for the virus will soon be found and we can return home safe and sound #REL101 -
