Social Media Interactions
I thought this interaction represented a common argument nowadays between people who are not as sympathetic to how the world has changed, and someone else who is trying to counter those negative ideas. -

I Came to the Protest to Defend Human Rights
"I came to the protest to defend human rights. This movement isn’t about race versus race, it’s about dissolving the negativity that our world is creating. The Black community is struggling, literally fighting for their lives, and everyone needs to stand with them to help bring a better world so Black people don’t walk the streets in fear of being a victim of the system." - Oz at the Roll4Justice rally on July 4, 2020 -

1 Person, 1 Brain Full Of Negativity
The pandemic made my thoughts turn into this negativity and the thought of being alone scattered through my mind. It really felt like my anxiety and the pandemic worked together in a way to make me feel horrible and scared. -

Election Day Feelings 2020
As many Americans hit the polls on Election Day 2020, many are left with uneasy feelings of anxiety and depression. There is so much at stake with this presidential election, including decisions about healthcare, women’s rights, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Although election day is on November 3rd, it could be days before a president is chosen due to the amount of mail in ballots casted by voters. Therefore, this election day fear and anxiety could hover over many nervous Americans for days to come. With all the looming negativity, it is best to remember to keep calm and reach out to those closest for support during this very difficult time. -

Shrugging Off the Negativity
To me, the picture above accurately sums up my Covid-19 experience. In this situation, the classic “Michael Jordan shrug” is equivalent to having the mentality of “there is nothing you can change about this, so you just got to keep moving forward”. That is how I was able to keep sane during the height of the pandemic. With the second half of my senior year of high school being scrapped, it was a matter of whether I was going to be mad about what I missed out on or look forward to what was ahead of me. The only concern I had (when the pandemic first begun) was keeping my family and I safe/distanced from the effects of the coronavirus.
