From the article: In previous years, Classy’s Why America Gives report has focused on consumer giving trends, what motivates donors to give, and their plans for Giving Tuesday and year-end giving. In our third-annual edition of Why America Gives, the 2020 report measures these year-over-year changes in giving sentiments and behaviors; in addition, it also analyzes how current events—specifically the COVID-19 pandemic and the social justice movement—have altered giving trends. -

Online Courses to Help with Anxiety Amidst the Pandemic
During the pandemic, I was an intern at a nonprofit, LEAD Inc., where we created online courses and webinars that give people tips and tricks to dealing with anxiety, working from home, and things to do during the pandemic. I think this item amplifies the voices of a marginalized group, people who struggle with anxiety already, and who struggled even more during the pandemic. It is also a great example of a small non-profit who took an advantage of the pandemic, and worked to try to help people during an unprecedented time. A lot of items I found were just things people did during the pandemic to pass the time, but at LEAD, we actually put together an online course to inform and help people who struggle with the anxiety of uncertainty, and we give lots of information and tips in the course. -

Green Bay Packers tackle Social Justice
The Green Bay Packers have pledged to help Social Justice within their local community. The rise from organizations to help social inequality measures have continued throughout the year of the COVID-19 pandemic and it seems the influence from Social Justice protests (like Black Lives Matters) have influenced recognition in all places in the United States. The Green Bay Packers are another organization that recognizes these Social Justice inequalities and have donated $250,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations that will help develop education and economic structures for minority communities. The outreach from an NFL organization has increased the effort towards Social Justice reform. -

Action for Boston Community responds to the pandemic on Twitter
Action for Boston Community Development(ABCD) is a nonprofit organization that works with low income individuals and families in Boston, Massachusetts. Low income communities have been hit the hardest during the Covid-19 pandemic, and ABCD offers resources such as food pantry services, diapers, and activities to keep children occupied. ABCD has been a staple in many Boston neighborhoods and while Covid-19 has created obstacles for the organization, they remain committed to serving the needs of the Community in any way possible.
