The years of struggle!
In 2018 I suffered from many personal traumas that led me to be a single mother of three littles ones. I found it very challenging to now be the only one who provided for my children and the only person they could rely on. With this new huge adjustment I made the decision to finally go back to school. I have never been very good at school or interested in furthering my education. With a little help from my family I was able to overcome my fear of college. I felt like I was finally thriving in school and I was coming to term with being the only role model in my children's lives. Then suddenly my classes shifted to online courses due to covid-19. I now had a whole new set of fears and distractions to go along with my new life as a single parent of 3. These terrible times have taught me that I can accomplish anything and I will keep pushing forward no matter what the universe throws at me. -

Covid-19 affected my life on eating habit, sleeping habits, and emotional wellness
When the pandemic started, it affected my life. Before the pandemic, I attend class on campus from Monday through Friday. I will have to wake up super early around 7 am or 8 am to get ready for class. After class ends, I will rush to my part-time job and begin working. This is what I do every day and I feel like this is what life is supposed to be like. After the pandemic started, I needed to stay home and attend an online course. When attending online courses, it gives me the anxiety of worrying whether I will pass the course or not. It is my first time attending the course online and I’m scared that I might not catch up with my education. I lost my part-time jobs and my parents stopped working due to the pandemic. I started to worry about the family income and planning to get a job. However, it is hard to find jobs during the pandemic and it is too risky for going outside. I started home every day and felt bored to the point I felt emotional numbness. My eating habits and sleeping habits change. I sleep almost the whole day at home and it causes some aches in my head. I often feel like I am lacking energy and easily tire. I also lack the motivation to do anything and think that the world is boring. I sometimes skip breakfast and lunch when I wake up at 4 pm when I sleep too much. These eating habits and sleeping habits are bad for my body. I decided to change a little to fix my health and I will start from sleeping and eating first. I feel like I need to find a goal or something to do in life to keep my motivation. -

How has COVID-19 challenged your VA 2020 school registration?
Reaching out to my school's student veterans, I was able to acquire one response. I emailed out a few questions about how the Covid-19 pandemic effected their registration process, and any other thoughts that may pertain to school and the pandemic. Even for myself, trying to find volunteers to participate in this project is difficult; not being able to visit the campus and collaborate with classmates proved I did not have an abundance of volunteers to work with at a moments notice. Before the pandemic we were able to ask for almost anyone's help with school projects, something that seems like a luxury at this time in the middle of Covid-19. I want to thank the individual for participating in my project, and wish them well with their classes throughout this difficult times that we are experiencing. -

CLASS CERTIFICATE
The course was on knowing about the virus, how it is transmitted, who is at risk, as well as precautions and social distancing. It also covered how to deal with Covid reporting and is a preparation for someone interested in working for public health in Covid reporting and contacting those who may have been exposed. Again this is important to me because it's about the exposure of persons to the virus and myself, my spouse and friends are members of at least one high risk group. -

School Downfall
I was a freshman at FGCU when COVID 19 first broke out. I just started my second semester and was thriving in all my classes. When the executive order came out the school sent an email that if you have a home you have to leave. My parents were not allowed to come help me because of where they worked, so I had to move out myself. I have a knee injury and no one would help me when I was struggling with moving my things. When I got home they switched all of our classes online, and I struggled a lot since I learn better in person than online. This was important to me because I got robbed of my freshman year at FGCU. *This is a screenshot of an email from FGCU. It informs the students of the governor's executive order for staying at home. -
