Traveling During Covid
In July of 2021, travel was open in the UK. My family immigrated to the United States in 1998 from England. My grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all still reside in the UK. Covid has been a very hard time as I could not visit my family and they could not travel to the US. When travel opened back up we were thrilled. My mom and I planned to travel to England in July 2021. The day before we were set to leave we noticed that my passport had expired the month prior. Since my passport had not been used in over a year, we were not aware that it had expired. We tried everything to get a new one as soon as possible, but there was a delay on getting passports out because many people had the same problems. Fortunately I was able to get an emergency passport appointment in Buffalo. I got my passport at the end of July and my mom and I were set to travel in August. Traveling to the UK required many covid tests, forms and mask wearing. I had not been in an airport in over a year, and this new way of travel was very strange to me, but I was still happy to be able to travel. Traveling back to the US also required many tests and forms, the National Guards were even placed in US airports making sure travelers were filling out locator forms. It was an insane experience, and hopefully travel goes back to normal in the coming years. Although it is a different way of traveling it is still amazing that we are able to leave the US and visit other countries after a long time of not being able to do so. -

Can employers legally require COVID-19 vaccinations?
As the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available to everyone, there are questions about whether or not an employer can require employees to get the vaccine. While making the vaccine required is well within the rights of an employer, it is unlikely this will happen. However, there are many places that are strongly recommending that employees get the vaccine. -

The next frontier in air travel: Digital passports as proof of vaccination or testing
With vaccines rolling out, there have been talks of digital passports. These passports would allow for international travelers to upload proof of a COVID-19 vaccine or negative test. However, concerns of human rights and privacy violations have been raised. These fears stem from the possibility of the passports causing inequality due to vaccine accessibility. -

Coronavirus: Quebec considering ‘immunization passports’
With coronavirus vaccinations now underway in Quebec, the province’s health minister is floating the idea of a so-called “COVID-19 passport” — digital proof that people have gotten the jab in order to access venues or activities. -

Passport
Covid-19 has caused trips, weddings, reunions, and cruises to be canceled. Instead, what we all have to look forward to is wandering out homes if you are lucky enough to have a home. This meme jokes about the daily boredom we are all feeling. It is a nod to the trips and events missed because of the circumstance. It also brings to light that we do not all have the same experience during shelter-in-place. For those of us living in a large home we at least have the option of exploring different views. For those who are less fortunate shelter-in-place is an entirely different experience. -

PPE
China was the region where virous was first serious area from the beginning, but the Chinese government also did not forget to protect overseas students. I believe that only China can do this, and international students from other countries can only express their envy. This makes me very proud.
