Weak Sauce
This is an Instagram post by chrischuckry and it is a political comic on the incompetence on part of the Canadian government and the handling of the pandemic. Obby Khan, who is referenced in this post, is a Pakistani-Canadian politician. This user is accusing him of using the same excuses as Heather Stefanson, who is the premier of Manitoba, a Canadian province. The political comic is upset about politicians in Manitoba "not listening to experts" and allowing the pandemic to become more dangerous. -

masks
I saw this on my Facebook thread the other day and thought it was a funny take on masks and those who refuse to wear them. The cartoon shines a light on the argument about mask and peoples "right" not to wear them. I try to be objective and see situations from different angles but in the mask argument I am dumbfounded by those who refuse to wear them because they feel like its an infringement on their constitutional rights. This country has become so divided because of politics that something as simple as wearing a mask to slow the spread of COVID has become politicized. -

Coronavirus shoppers
This comic shows how much of an impact the coronavirus had on grocery stores and shoppers. It also shows how people could have overreacted to the fact that they can't find toilet paper or foods like spaghetti sauce. The main focus of this comic though is the doctor who is looking at the other row of shelves. The shelves are labeled, "face masks," "test kits," and "ventilators." This shows how not only food was a shortage, but also very important medical supplies that were needed to keep people alive. This is important to me because it shows the different struggles between everyday necessities, and what people need to stay alive. -

"I told him" comic
A single panel comic in which three men are stranding around a man-made beehive in bee keeping suits. Two are wearing bee-keeper's hats with face shields while a third is not and is being swarmed. The caption reads "I told him as an expert in the field I strongly recommend wearing it, but he just kept bringing up his 'rights.'" A commentary on those who do not believe in wearing masks -

Death Likes to Roll the Dice
Wearing a mask has become a political issue more so than a health issue. As someone who has existing health conditions, wearing a mask always seemed to be a matter of social responsibility. It has been interesting, and at times confusing, to see all of the arguments used to try and discourage mask wearing. This item was added TAGS v6.1.9.1. I originally searched under the hashtag #wearadamnmask. Within that search, I have chosen to add the following tweet because it describes the arguements that many people make for not having to wear a mask. -

"I can't breathe"
This political cartoon is a commentary on the rights people are willing to fight for. A lot of right wing people were willing to protest and fight against social-distance measures and masks. But not willing to fight for the right to live by minority communities. -

Covid-19 Cartoon: 100k US Deaths
This cartoon depicts a New York Times news article printed May 24, 2020 listing just 1,000 names of the nearly 100,000 who had died from the coronavirus since January 2020. In the bottom right corner, Trump is shown attempting to wash away the list of the dead with bleach. Trump had previously made the absurd suggestion that people who contracted Covid could cure the virus by ingesting Bleach. This comic illustrates Trump's desperate, disrespectful, and foolish attempts at solving the pandemic. -

Trump's golf game in the days of COVID19
It is a satire piece demonstrating Trump's selfish handling of the pandemic for personal gain, while spending more time and effort on golf than doing his job. This post is appearing frequently on social media threads and iuses the backdrop of a New York Times article about the death toll of COVID superimposing Trump as a golfer. It is an indictment of Trump's handling of the crisis and the publics growing view of his performance. -
