DC activists and community hosted a day of artistic expression demanding every vote is counted
With the Presidental election looming over the city, DC activists and community hosted a day of artistic expression demanding every vote is counted. Towards the event's conclusion at Black Lives Matter plaza, DC police and Health Department warned the organizers that they were in violation of a local health code that does not allow for food and aerosol spray cans to be within a specific distance from each other. After a tense standoff, the police retreated after the activists started to assemble for a potential escalation. -

My Part for Social Justice
The photograph is from Presidential election results won't stop Seattle BLM protests by David Kroman for Crosscut and was taken by Jovelle Tamayo of Crosscut during a Black Lives Matter protest on election night, 3 November 2020, in Seattle, WA. The article states no matter who wins the presidential election Social Justice protests will not stop. My experience throughout this year during the pandemic and Social Justice movements has been silent. Maybe I feel that my voice will not be heard but I do fear that if I do not say something, I’m hurting the movement for Social Justice. Social Justice movements will continue whatever the election results may be and inequality surrounding diversity will still exist too. Black Lives Matter has continued to spread its resolve for Social Justice, and I know my silence will not continue. Social Justice occurs and is a presence in our society today. It is up to the individual to make their decision to say something, but it will be present until changed. -

Election Day Feelings 2020
As many Americans hit the polls on Election Day 2020, many are left with uneasy feelings of anxiety and depression. There is so much at stake with this presidential election, including decisions about healthcare, women’s rights, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Although election day is on November 3rd, it could be days before a president is chosen due to the amount of mail in ballots casted by voters. Therefore, this election day fear and anxiety could hover over many nervous Americans for days to come. With all the looming negativity, it is best to remember to keep calm and reach out to those closest for support during this very difficult time. -

What Trump's COVID-19 diagnosis could mean for his campaign
The main point of this article is to deliver what Trump’s diagnosis could mean for his political campaign in the near future- things like rallies are canceled and moved online, along with any events involving the first family altogether. I chose this article because it was at the beginning of the list when I looked up articles about Coronavirus, but it genuinely is a good article and very well-written. It’s important to life now because for the entire quarantine, Trump has been downplaying the effects of COVID- not wearing a mask, having rallies with no-social distancing, not taking the health risks seriously. Him catching coronavirus is quite possibly one of the most monumental moments this year simply just because it’s so ironic- after not believing in the virus he suddenly contracts it, although asymptomatic. There's bias because ABC is a left leaning news source, but the information seems pretty straight forward with very little attempts at slander. -
